    • PURPOSE:To improve the dimensional accuracy of working and to increase the work efficiency, by forming slanted faces that widen downward on an upper die and pressing the flange of a channel-shaped member inward by sliding walls erected on a lower die on the slanted face of the upper die. CONSTITUTION:A pair of slanted faces 5, 5' that widen downward and facing to each other are provided on both sides of the body 4 of an upper die 3. A pair of walls 8, 8 are pivotally attached to both sides of the body 7 of a lower die 6 by a shaft 20 allowing free raising up and bringing down. A channel- shaped member 1 is inserted between the upper die 3 and lower die 6. The two dies 3, 6 are brought close to each other, and walls 8, 8 are brought into contact with the slanted face 5 of the upper die 3 and slidden. Walls 8, 8 are displaced inward by this process, and apply inward pressing force to flanges 2, 2 of the channel-shaped member 1. At the same time, the flange 2 is held between the wall 8 and both sides of the body 4 of the upper die, and drawing work is completed. Press working such as piercing, bending etc. is performed on the web 9 of the channel-shaped member 1 at the same time.
