    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a reinforced plate glass by which the strength of glass surfaces can be sufficiently enhanced and a stable quality is secured at high production efficiency, and a reinforced plate glass manufactured by the method.SOLUTION: The reinforced plate glass is an alumino silicate glass, and is provided with compressive stress layers by chemical reinforcement on plate surfaces opposing in the plate thickness direction. Plate end surfaces have regions where compressive stress is formed and regions where no compressive stress is formed. The alumino silicate glass contains, by mass as a glass composition, 50-80% of SiO, 5-25% of AlO, 3-25% of LiO+NaO and 0-10% of CaO+MgO+ZnO+SrO+BaO. The thickness of the compressive stress layer is at most 100 μm and the plate end surfaces are surfaces formed by scribe cutting and formed without passing a scoring process.
