    • PURPOSE:To simplify construction and prevent an increase in sectional area by housing an optical fiber in a housing pipe in such a way as to leave a margin in length at the inner recessed part of a corrugated sheath having a spiral shape and formed on the external surface of a power cable. CONSTITUTION:A spiral corrugated sheath 3 is formed on the external surface of a cable core 2 formed on the external surface of a power cable conductor 1 at a central part. A housing pipe 4 containing an optical fiber 6 with a margin in length kept with a means of spiral, zigzag or the like form in the groove and the like of a spacer 5 is spirally arranged in the inner or outer recess part 8 or 9 of the aforesaid corrugated sheath 5. According to the aforesaid construction, mechanical stress working on the optical fiber 6 is alleviated with the housing pipe 14 and the irregularity of the sheath 5. In addition, as a space conventionally filled with oil, gases or compound is used for housing the optical fiber 6, there is no possibility of enlarging the diameter of a power and optical fiber composite cable and easy wiring work is ensured.

    • PURPOSE: To decide the insulating performance of an insulating body such as an activated cable easily by detecting the change of electrolyte due to electrodialysis to detect a fine DC current.
      CONSTITUTION: Power supply from a power source 1 to a load 3 through a cable is continued and earth terminals 5, 6 are arranged on both the end parts of a shielding layer 4 of the cable 2. A DC component detector 7 is arranged between these earth terminals 5, 6 and the ground. The device part excluding a filter out of the detector 7 is constituted as shown in the figure, and in this example, a copper sulfate solution is used as the electrolyte and cupper wires are used as electrodes 10, 11. A resistor 12 suppresses a stray current. The DC component is detected by measuring the weight change of any one of the electrodes 10, 11 which is generated on the basis of the separating of cupper in the electrolyte 9. When 6.4kV AC is applied for about 100 days, weight change of 1mg or less in a normal cable or about 30mg in deteriorated cable is generated.
