    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reversible thermal recording medium having a good coloring sensitivity, a sufficient coloring density, and erasability and excelling in the storage stability of an image part. SOLUTION: The reversible thermal recording medium has on a substrate a reversible thermal recording layer containing a reversible thermosensitive composition which can form a relatively colored state and a state of a color being extinguished, according to a difference in a heating temperature and/or a cooling speed after heating, by using an electron-donating coloring compound and an electron-accepting compound. The medium uses a phenolic compound expressed by general formula [1] as the electron-accepting compound and the molar ratio of the electron-accepting compound to the electron-donating coloring compound is 1.3-2.7.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reversible heat-sensitive recoding medium which holds stable color developing properties and color erasing properties and can cope with wide-ranging use conditions and environmental conditions, and especially, in which light resistant preservability and moisture resistant preservability are improved.
