    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a constant velocity universal joint which can be stably used for long periods, and enables enhancement of a sealing performance, and improvement of a boot breakage life.SOLUTION: This constant velocity universal joint has grease filled inside the joint and a boot 65 mounted by fastening by a fastening band 70 to seal the inside of the joint. At the band mounting part of the boot, a circumferential recessed groove 75 (82) for fitting the fastening band is provided. The grease is composed by compounding an additive to base grease composed of a base oil and a thickener. The grease is set at the proper joint value based on the sealability and NVH characteristics. The mixing stability of the grease is 330-400, and the mixing consistency of the grease is 300-370.

The roller units 30 and the tripod member 20 are housed in the outside joint member 10 to be axially slidable. Retaining members 50 which are projected radially inside, and to which the leg shafts 22 of the tripod member 20 are locked, are disposed at a bottom part of the track groove 12 in the opening part 11 of the outside joint member 10.
