    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve joining strength for a rectangular frame at an end of a brace of an extremely thin steel plate. SOLUTION: A corner section at a lower end of a rectangular frame is constituted by joining a horizontal frame material 1 and a vertical frame material 2 in upper and lower parts which are made of extremely thin steel plates which are formed in such a manner that their cross sections are bent in roughly U shape. Then, a lower end part of a brace 4 is joined on flanges 6 of the lower horizontal frame material 1 and the vertical frame material 2 through a gusset plate 15, and the lower horizontal frame material 1 is fixed on a foundation by using an anchor bolt 8. The width L in a drilling tapping screw arrangement region of an end part of the brace is set to be larger than the width L1 of the intermediate part and a plurality of drilling tapping screws 13 are drilled along the width L so that the relation of strength (A) at which the whole brace yields when tensile force acts on the brace 4 and strength against destruction (B) of a join part due to the drilling tapping screws 13 between the brace 4 and the gusset plate 15 becomes B>A.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for reinforcing a square steel pipe column, which can effectively suppress a decrease in yield strength and maintain deformation performance, even after local buckling.SOLUTION: A restraining means 2 faces each of four side surfaces 11 of a square steel pipe column 1 via a gap S from at least one of sides of outer and inner surfaces 11A and 11B, so as to be capable of restraining buckling deformation of the at least two side surfaces 11. This can suppress a drastic decrease in yield strength of the square steel pipe column 1 and secure deformation performance of the square steel pipe column 1 even after local buckling.

Second channel-shaped metal members 3 each having two inner ribs 9 projected inward to webs 4 formed by cold working or hot working such as press working are arranged in such a manner that the inner ribs 9 mutually face inwardly so as to face perpendicularly to the direction facing the first channel-shaped metal members 2. A flange 5 of the first channel-shaped metal members 2 and two inner ribs 9 of the second channel-shaped metal member 3 are jointed together by a jointing means 10 such as drill screw.

The frame other than the outer peripheral structure plane 21 is composed of inner columns 17b and inner beams 18b formed of steel frame members of closed cross section. The inner beam 18b is joined to the reinforced concrete outer peripheral column 17a (or a steel-framed reinforced concrete outer peripheral column) or the reinforced concrete outer peripheral beam 18a through a joint component formed of a mechanism which resists shearing force and axial force mainly applied to the beam.
