    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a low-cost optical switch which is superior in mass- productivity by minimizing the numbers of walls and surfaces for positioning needed for precise machining by determining the width of a couple of grooves so that one guide pin comes into contact with the side walls of the grooves and the other guide pin comes into contact with only a pressure plate. SOLUTION: An end part of an optical fiber 102 to which an input light signal is inputted is fixed to a movable fiber hold block 106. End parts of the guide pins 105a and 105b are inserted slidably into the grooves 202a and 202b formed on the hold block 106. The opening upper parts of the grooves 202a and 202b are closed with the pressure plate 201. The width of the groove 202 is so set that when one guide pin 105 comes into contact with the inside wall of the groove 202 of the hold block 106 and the pressure plate 201, the other guide pin 105 comes into contact with only the pressure plate 201 without coming into contact with the inside wall of the paired groove 202.

    • PURPOSE: To offer a magnetic alloy composed of a single alloy, having a complex magnetic property and excellent in workability, by preparing an alloy containing specified rates of Cr, Co, Ni, Si and Fe.
      CONSTITUTION: An alloy comprising, by weight ratio, 17W35% Cr, 8W20% Co, 0.1W12% Ni, 0.1W5% Si and the balance being Fe. The alloy may contain 0.1W10% of one or more of Mn, Y, Cu, Zn, Al, C, rare earth metals, Ru, Rh, Pd, Os, Ir and Pt as additional components. Its complex magnetic property is obtained by solution- treating the alloy in an α+γ dual phase zone and utilizing the spinodal decomposition of each phase, a γ→α' transition mechanism and an age-precipitation-hardening mechanism so that mainly α contributes to a large coercive force while γ contributes to a small coercive force. Thus, the magnetic alloy abound in mass-producibility is obtained at a low cost.
