CONSTITUTION:The membrane evaporative concentrator 10 consists of the raw liq. chamber 11, the evaporative concentration chamber 12, the condensation chamber 13, and a refrigerant chamber 14. The raw liq. chamber 11 and the evaporative concentration chamber 12 are separated with the hydrophilic membrane 15 consisting of a hydrophilic porous body. The evaporative concentration chamber 12 and the condensation chamber 13 are separated with the hydrophobic membrane 16 consisting of a hydrophobic porous body. The condensation chamber 13 and the refrigerant chamber 14 are separated with a heat-transfer wall 17 consisting of a heat-conductive material such as a stainless steel sheet. Accordingly, steam is generated from the raw liq. introduced into a row liq. chamber 3, passed through a hydrophobic membrane 1, and cooled by the heat- transfer wall 17 in an evaporative condensation chamber 4 to obtain high-purity condensate.

    • PURPOSE: To prevent the increase of pressure drop in the packed layer of an immobilized enzyme reactor, by placing a reaction zone packed with immobilized enzyme in a reactor in plural layers divided along the flow direction of the substrate solution, and attaching a means for controlling the temperature, pH, etc. of the substrate solution between the reaction layers.
      CONSTITUTION: The inside of an immobilized enzyme reactor 4 is divided into the alternately arranged plural reaction layers 5 packed with immobilized enzyme and the controlling parts 6, and the reticular supporting material 7 for preventing the escape of the immobilized enzyme packed in the reaction chamber 5 is placed between the controlling parts 6 and the reaction layers 5. The controlling part 6 is furnished with the pipes 8, 10 to transfer the reaction liquid flowed down from the upstream-side reaction layer 5 to the downstream-side reaction layer 5. A mixing part is placed between the pipes 8 and 10, and an inlet 11 of a pH-controlling liquid is attached in the mixing part 9, and the inlet 13 and the outlet 14 of the medium for the temperature control of the reaction liquid is attached to the mixing part 9.

    • PURPOSE: To control the rate of feeding of substrate in the aerated cultivation of baker's yeast so as to conduct the feed of the cultivation substrate at the optimum rate, by detecting the production of ethanol from the data obtained by the measurement of the feed gas flow and the exhaust gas flow.
      CONSTITUTION: The feed gas flow rate and the exhaust gas flow rate are measured continuously during the cultivation by the feed gas flow meter 5 and the exhaust gas flow meter 6, respectively. The measured data are inputted to a comparing means 7, in which the ratio of the flow rates is calculated, and the comparative relationship of the rates is displayed by the displaying means 8. When the exhaust gas flow rate is larger than the feed gas flow rate, it is supposed that ethanol is produced by the excessive feed of the substrate, and the substrate feed rate is reduced by operating the substrate feed rate controlling means 3. On the contrary, when the exhaust gas flow rate is smaller, the substrate feed rate is incresed. The control can be performed automatically, by electrically connecting the comparing means with the substrate feed rate controlling means.
