    • PURPOSE:To demodulate a frequency shift keying (FSK) signal with the signal processing of a frequency similar to a carrier frequency and constitute a demodulating circuit of only logic circuit by using a clock, whose frequency is equal to one frequency of the FSK signal, to sample the FSK signal which is converted to pulses by a bandpass filter and a slicer. CONSTITUTION:A clock 3 whose frequency is equal to one frequency of the FSK signal is used to sample the FSK signal, which is converted to pulse by a band-pass filter 1 and a slicer 2, by a sampling circuit 4. Thus, the FSK signal is practically converted to a frequency similar to a data signal. since this signal is lowspeed, demodulation is possible with the signal processing at a speed similar to the carrier frequency. The frequency-converted FSK signal is identified as a binary in the digital counting system by a frequency disidentifying circuit 6. In this case, a required data signal clock timing is extracted from the FSK signal by a data clock extracting circuit 5.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain an optical frequency selective reception system with advantages such as simple constitution, small size, low transmission loss and low cost by making an optical signal subjected to optical frequency division multiplex transmission incident in a wavelength variable diode oscillated at a desired optical frequency by an injection current. CONSTITUTION:Lots of different information are subjected to optical frequency division multiplex transmission in different optical frequencies f1-fn, the optical signals are multiplexed by a 1 X n port optical star coupler 1 and the result is sent to the reception side through an optical fiber 2. The optical signal is made incident in the wavelength variable laser diode 10 at the reception side. An injection current is controlled in the diode 10 by a drive current control circuit 11, the oscillated wavelength of the diode 10 is varied and when the light is tuned to a desired selected optical frequency, the optical signal of the desired optical frequency is amplified. In giving an output of the diode 10 to an optical AND gate element 14. the element 14 suppresses the optical signal of the undesired frequency included somehow in the original signal, the S/N is improved and the output signal is sent to a photoelectric transducing circuit 12. The circuit 12 transduces the optical signal into an electric signal and gives the result to terminal equipments 13-1, 13-2.

    • PURPOSE:To attain complete digital circuit integration by providing a means generating an asynchronous clock with a carrier frequency of a phase modulation signal and detecting the phase difference between the asynchronous clock and the phase modulation signal so as to demodulate a data signal based on the phase difference. CONSTITUTION:A phase difference detector 12 detects the phase difference between a phase identification block and a PSK signal from a phase identification clock generator 11, and a phase difference change detector 13 discriminates the presence of the change in the phase difference in the timing from a timing extraction device 14. Since the phase identification clock is not synchronized with the carrier, the phase difference changes in a frequency being the difference between respective frequencies. The presence of the phase change of a PSK signal is discriminated as the difference between respective phase differences of phase identification clocks (f) of a O phase PSK signal (waveform b0) and a pi phase PSK signal (waveform bpi) and represented as the difference between solid and broken lines. That is, the difference of the phase difference is 0 at the moment of time 0, T/2, T..., and the presence of the phase change is not discriminated. Thus, the error rate of the demodulation system is a degree of the deviation of wave numbers of the phase identification clock (f).

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a prescribed extinction ratio and a peak value by detecting an optical output only when a pulse exists, controlling an LD drive circuit so as to make the output constant and controlling the LD current with the optical output at optical pulse output. CONSTITUTION:A light irradiated from a semiconductor laser LD1 is monitored by a photodetector (PD) 2 and its output is amplified by an amplifier 3. The output of the amplifier 3 is inputted to a sample-and-hold IC6. A sample-and- hold circuit 6 uses a signal 7 as a clock pulse and samples and holds the output of the amplifier 3 when the signal pulse exists. The output of the sample-and- hold circuit 6 controls the LD driver 4. As a result, the optical output with stable extinction ratio is obtained.

SOLUTION: The ATM communication device is provided with an interface means for transmitting and receiving cells through a network in an asynchronous transfer mode, a monitor means equipped with a plurality of monitor circuits for monitoring the traffic of the input cells for each item in parallel, and a determining means equipped with a plurality of determining circuits corresponding to the monitor circuits. In this system, the determining means judges whether the cells received by the interface means should be tagged or abandoned or inputted based on the plurality of monitored results outputted by the monitor means, the information related with the traffic included in the input cells, and a cell processing regulation decided corresponding to a communication service provided by the network. Thus, it is possible to reduce the cell delay of the communication network by this ATM communication device for quickly executing policing whose processing item or number is different for each communication service in a simple constitution.
