    • PURPOSE:To reduce a circuit scale and to decrease the design man-hour without using a ROM by selecting a clock corresponding to a counted value inputted from n-series of clocks and sending a counting operation start signal when a fault is detected. CONSTITUTION:Clock status display signals S1-S8 are all zero when all of 8 series of clocks are all normal, then the counting operation start signal is not sent to a counter 6 the counter is in the operation stop. In this case, a multiplexer 7 selects a clock CK1 and sends the result externally. When the clock CK1 is interrupted and other clocks are normal, only the clock state display signal S1 corresponding to the clock CK1 selected by a multiplexer 7 goes to logic 1. Thus, an AND gate 52 sends the counting operation start signal of logic 1 and the counter 6 is incremented by 1. Since a count incremented by one is inputted to the multiplexer 7, a clock CK2 is selected and sent to externally. Since no ROM is not used, the circuit scale is reduced and the design man-hour is decreased.

    • PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of a MODEM and to make it compact and to make it compact and inexpensive by incorporating an MODEM for video tex communication and an MODEM for computer communication and using switchingly each MODEM constitution at video tex and computer communication. CONSTITUTION:A data terminal ready signal EF (ER signal) is set when the preparation of operation of the video tex communication module 2 or the computer communication module 3 of a data terminal equipment 1 is finished. But the ER signal from both modules is not set at the same time. For example, the set of the ER signal outputted from the module 2 is sent to a low speed transmission section 6 via an interface circuit 11, from which the result is informed to a switching section 8. Then the MODEM 4 functions a high speed reception section 5 and the low speed transmission section 6 via a transmission/ reception synthesis and separation circuit 13 selected by the switching section 8 and the data transmission/reception is executed between the module 2 and the center system.

    • PURPOSE:To attain two-way data communication in the CATV system comprising a tree shape coaxial cable network by converting an output data of a computer of a CATV center station at an RF MODEM, demodulating the data by an RF MODEM at the terminal side via a CATV network and displaying the result on the terminal device. CONSTITUTION:A signal via a CCP 21 and a MODEM 3 is inputted to a head end (amplifier modulation mixer) 6 of a CATV center station 1 from a computer 2. The head end 6 modulates the signal into a carrier frequency of the FM broadcast band and sends it to a home terminal 22 via a CATV network 7 and a drawing line 23. A data signal demodulated by the RF MODEM 5 and a data MODEM 3 is displayed on a terminal equipment 8 in the home terminal 22. On the other hand, a signal from the subscriber side is modulated into a voice band signal by the MODEM 3 from the data terminal equipment 8, modulated into a proper band in the FM broadcast incoming band of the RF MO DEM, modulated into a voice band by the RF MODEM 5 in the head end 6 of the CATV center 1 and sent to the computer 2 via the data MODEM 3 and the CCP 21.
