摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exposure apparatus of a printing plate, which is preferably direct platemaking with easy operation and improving safeness for white light without increasing the running cost even when the apparatus is used for a printing original plate having no oxygen shielding layer to be subjected to formation of a latent image by photopolymerization and then to alkali development.
SOLUTION: The exposure apparatus for a printing plate is equipped with: an oxygen shielding means to expose while eliminating oxygen in at least the exposed part during at least exposure; and an oxygen shielding period controlling means to control the oxygen shielding period by the above oxygen shielding means. Preferably, the oxygen shielding period controlling means controls the oxygen shielding period in an arbitrary period from a predetermined time prior to the exposure on the printing original plate to a predetermined time after the exposure.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for making a printing plate from a printing original plate by which the entire process can be carried out in a bright room and to provide an exposure apparatus for a printing plate suitably used for carrying out the above method. SOLUTION: The method for making a printing plate is characterized in that the following planographic printing original plate is exposed to light having 250 nm to 420 nm wavelength while eliminating oxygen in at least the exposed part during at least exposure. The planographic printing original plate has an image recording layer on a supporting body, wherein the recording layer contains a polymerization initiator, a polymer compound and a binder polymer, has sensitivity to light having 250 nm to 420 nm wavelength and no oxygen shielding layer and is removable with printing ink and/or dampening water. The exposure apparatus for a printing plate is used to expose a printing original plate having no oxygen shielding layer and subjected to formation of a latent image by photopolymerization and to development on a printing machine, and the apparatus is equipped with an oxygen shielding means to expose a plate while eliminating oxygen at least in the exposed part during at least exposure. SOLUTION: The image recording layer 16 has a monomer being a solid at normal temperatures, a polymerization initiator, a photothermal conversion agent and a microcapsule containing the monomer or the polymerization initiator and is so constituted that the quantity of light energy absorbed in an assumed lower layer in the image recording layer 16 becomes equal to or larger than that absorbed in assumed upper and middle parts thereof. The image recording layer is subjected to exposure and then to post-heating at a temperature within the range from the melting point of the monomer to that of the wall of the microcapsule. Thereby the plate wear resistance of the lithographic plate 10 can be improved.

Thus, the exposure recording on the scanning line, which cannot be performed by one of the beam spot arrays, can be performed by using beam spots of the other beam spot array immediately after the movement.
