    • PURPOSE:To improve exactly vibration characteristics, and to make the titled mechanism small in size and light in weight by forming a wall-removed part on the upper end part of a support of a housing. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic circuit part 5 consists of a coil 51 which has been attached to the other end side of an oscillating body supporting part 22, and a magnetic circuit 52 which has been fixed to a bottom plate 43 of a housing 4 and placed in the peripheral direction of the coil 51. In this state, a magnetic action is generated the magnetic circuit 52 and the coil 51, therefore, an oscillating body 2 is turned around a shaft with respect to a housing 4, and a magnetic head 1 is positioned at a desired position of a magnetic disk. On the upper end of a support 41 of the housing 4, a wall-removed part 44 is formed, and the wall-removed part 44 forms a recessed part which has removed the upper part of the support along the axial direction and also with a moderate depth, for instance, it is formed in one support 41. As for the wall-removed part 44, it is feared that the rigidity of the support 41 drops by forming it, but this mechanism is constituted so that the drop of its rigidity is suppressed as much as possible, and the mass can be lowered concentrically.

    • PURPOSE:To fix a movable carriage automatically and firmly by employing a fixing mechanism having a slow action and mounting a magnetic head. CONSTITUTION:When a magnetic disk device, etc., are brought into the stopped state, a carriage 10 rotates due to the torsion force of a retract spring 15 and a magnetic head 1 moves to the retract position on the magnetic disk. An electromagnetic solenoid 11 having a dushpot mechanism, etc., acts slowly, and an ascending plunger 11a fits in a notch part 16 of the carriage 10 at the retrack position to fix the carriage firmly. Accordingly the disk can be prevented from breakage by the head 1 during transportation, etc.

    • PURPOSE:To adjust the attachment height of a magnetic head with high precision by a simple procedure and to improve the precision of the relative height between a magnetic disk and the magnetic head by providing a stopper which is settable at an optional position. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic head 2 is fitted to a support 4 through a head arm 3, and the support 4 oscillates around a fixed shaft 6 to position the magnetic head 2. The support 4 is supported on the fixed shaft 6 through two bearings 5a and 5b, and when the internal ring in the lower bearing 5b is energized axially by a pressurized spring 7, the whole of the support 4 moves up to press the internal ring in the upper bearing 5a against a bush 9 fitted in the fixed shaft 6. The fixed shaft 6 is thread-cut partially to form a bolt part 12, where a nut 11 is engaged. The bush 9 is slidable axially until the nut 11 as a stopper and the nut 11 is rotated to vary the axial fixation position of the bush 9 optionally, so the support 4, i.e. magnetic head 2 is positioned optionally in the height direction.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disk device capable of preventing the increase of gas concentration liberated from bearing lubricant therein by arranging activated carbons for absorbing gas components liberated from grease in the vicinity of a carriage bearing or providing an air flow passage utilizing a pressure difference in an HDA and also arranging activated carbons therein. SOLUTION: Through-holes 14 and 13 are provided in a bearing jacket 3, and through an activated carbon case 16, the air passage of a return port 20 is constructed from a return passage 19. Then, by arranging the return port 20 in the inner peripheral part of a disk 8, a pressure distribution in the HDA by disk rotating winds is smaller in its inner peripheral part compared with its outer peripheral part. Thus, gas liberated from the bearing lubricant is passed through a room where activated carbons 1 are arranged, returned into the HDA and the absorbing effect of the activated carbons 1 is increased. Also, by providing an air filter 21 in this passage, oil mist is effectively captured.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized, thinned device with large capacity by separating a disk/actuator room from a package room, transmitting rotational force of a motor in a required space with a kinetic pressure bearing and providing thin sliders on surfaces/rears of plural disks while making them correspond to each other. SOLUTION: The disk/actuator room 25 housing two sheets, etc., of magnetic disks 2 and the actuator, etc., is arranged separated from the package room 26 housing a control package 22, etc. The rotational force of a spindle motor 9 provided in the space secured in the internal diameter of the disk 2 in the room 25 is transmitted to a spindle 91 through the kinetic pressure bearing 10. On the other hand, four pieces, etc., of thin nano-sliders 4 are set correspond to respective surfaces/rears of the disks 2, and respective sliders 4 turn around a shaft 93 by a suspension 5 controlled by a magnetic circuit 11. Further, the room 26 is connected to a PCMCIA connector. By such a constitution, the small-sized magnetic disk device having a thickness of 5mm or below and large capacity is obtained.
