    • PURPOSE:To provide an automatic deposit machine or the like which can assuredly feed all the inserted paper sheets one by one on the same condition. CONSTITUTION:When a cotrol device gives a command for feeding the first sheet in response to an order of discrimination, a driving system is started and a feed roller 58 makes one revolution. The rotation of the feed roller 58 makes a feed roller 57, a separating roller 73, transport rollers 74, 75 start rotating, and from the point of time when a rubber 72 of the feed roller 58 contacts a note 40, the note 40 contacting the feed rollers 57, 58 is fed out. AT this time the separating roller 73 prevents a double feeding of the notes. When the note 40 is separated from the feed roller 57, the feed roller 57 stops, to thereby perform a stopper function for the coming note 40. The feed roller 58 is adapted to consecutively feed out the note 40 and insert the leading edge of the note 40 between transport rollers 74, 75. Thus, the notes 40 can be assuredly fed out one by one.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to reliably align the ends of bank notes in an apparatus which automatically aligns the ends of paper or the like such as bank notes being fed in a bundle and then feeds them one by one, by releasing a bundle of bank notes once held under pressure previously and making them collide with a stopping guide plate by utilizing inertia. CONSTITUTION:Bank notes 40, which are deposited in a bundle from a depositing port 63 by a user, are fed into between a conveyor 54 and a roller 55 and once stopped by a stopper 59. When the deposition of the bank notes has been confirmed under said condition, the stopper 59 retreats in the A direction, and the bank notes 40 are held between the conveyor 54 and the roller 55 and carried. When the ends of the bank notes 40 are detected by means of a sensor 61, the conveyor 54 is retreated from the carrying path 62. As a result, by the inertia resulting from the energy applied by the conveyor 54 until that time, the bank notes 40 are moved forward to collide with a stopping guide plate 60, so that the ends of the bank notes 40 are automatically aligned. The bank notes 40 whose ends have been aligned are then delivered, one by one, by a feed roller 58.

    • PURPOSE:To enable smooth and speedy storing of bank notes by a method wherein a variable belt which is used for the bank-note storing part, etc. of a bank-note handling machine, a part of which is supported in such a manner that it can be driven for rotation as a storing mechanism and the other part of which is placed in a free condition is used and the free end of the variable belt is crossed with a guide belt. CONSTITUTION:The variable belt B3 is wound round a pulley 26 on the side of a square belt B2. The pulley 26 is pressed by a supporting belt B4 wound round two pulleys 27 and 28 and a part of the variable belt B3 is supported in such a manner that it can be driven for rotation, while the free end of the variable belt B3 is made to cross with the guide belt B1. By this constitution, the bank note P6 is sent to the lower side by the holding force between the guide belt B1 and the variable belt B3 and is intruded from the side of the guide belt B1 into a shaking belt B5 at the lower surface of the free end of the variable belt B3. Therefore, the operation of striking in the bank notes one by one becomes unnecessary, and the bank notes can be stored smoothly and rapidly.
