    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the deviation of a nozzle recording position due to the thermal expansion of a recording head from occurring by using a simple recording head positioning mechanism and controlling the recording timing. SOLUTION: The left end of a recording head 103 is fixed in a freely rotatable manner by a pin 116 insetted in a groove part 115 formed ion the left side face 113 of a recording head fixing unit. On the right end of the recording head 103, a bearing 118 is buried to be fixed by a leaf spring 117 in such a manner that the bearing 118 is brought into contact under pressure with the right side face 114 of the recording head fixing unit. That is, the length of the recording head 103 varies in accordance with the temperature variations of the recording head 103, resulting in the shifting of the right end position of the recording head 103 in the paper conveying direction. Therefore, the recording timing is controlled so as to correct the deviation of a nozzle position according to the temperature variations to achieve the correct recording.

Even when discharged liquid drops are separated to main drops 508 and satellites 507, no polarization is given rise to between the main drops and satellites and the satellites 507 are let to fly together with the main drops 508 to the paper 101.

CONSTITUTION:A sensor 102 is set at a scale 101 to read a measured distance code. The signal is binarized and input to a correlation detector 103. Code searching is carried out until a generated code agrees. When an output from the detector 103 becomes a peak, a state of a shift register of a code generator 105 indicates a position of the sensor 102 on the scale 101. The content of the shift register at this time represents a current position of the sensor 102. The detector 103 sends a signal to the generator 105, whereby the content of the shift register is output. A look-up table 107 converts, when receiving the measured distance code from the shift register, the code to data of an absolute position and outputs the data. In this manner, the absolute position can be obtained by sequentially reading the measured distance data by the sensor 102.

For the double-surface recording, the medium is set at a sucking position for back-surface recording. When the recording medium 6 is set at the sucking position for the back-surface recording, the recording is made to wait for the specified time before the start of the back-surface recording. For the standby time, the standby time corresponding to the preset kind of the recording medium 6 is set in the timer of a CPU30. The waiting is performed by driving a timer 35. After the elapse of the preset time of the timer, the recording medium 6 is sucked, the recording data are received from a host computer by the same way as the operation in front-surface recording and the recording is performed for every one line. After the recording of one page is finished, the recording medium 6 is discharged, and the front-surface recording and the back-surface recording are completed.
