摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ballast water treatment device capable of sterilizing hazardous organisms contained in ballast water stored in a ballast tank. SOLUTION: The ballast water treatment device comprises a ballast water circulation flow passage 5 with one end and the other end thereof connected to a ballast tank 1 of a ship, a cooling water heat exchanger 13 which is provided in the ballast water circulation flow passage 5 to perform heat exchange between cooling water from a pump 11 and a waste heat source 19 and ballast water 3, an exhaust heat exchanger 15 to perform heat exchange between exhaust from the waste heat source 19 and ballast water 3, a treatment tank 17 with ballast water stored therein, a nozzle 25 which is provided in the treatment tank 17, and mixes air in ballast water 3, ejects air into the treatment tank 17, and generates cavitation bubbles in ballast water 3 stored in the treatment tank 17, and air feed units 27 and 31 which are provided to feed air to be mixed in ballast water 3. Ballast water is treated with heat and cavitation by circulating ballast water 3 in the ballast tank 1 in the ballast water circulation flow passage 5, and hazardous organisms contained in ballast water stored in the ballast tank can be sterilized. Therefore, by reacting dispersed activated sludge with dissolved oxygen or nitrogen oxide in a digestion tank 3, activated sludge is subjected to autoxidation to be converted to inorganic matter and the volume of activated sludge is reduced.

The lance 14 consists of a narrow and long lance which can be inserted into the gaps in the heating tube bank. A plurality of nozzle chips 15 are mounted on the side wall of a lance. Two nozzle chips are provided at positions, each of which are distanced from the other by 180 degrees with respect to the circumferential direction, and the water jets 17 are injected from the nozzle tips, respectively, in the opposite horizontal directions.
