    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing polyoxyalkylene monool or polyol, in which the addition polymerization can be performed even when the amount of a catalyst used is small; the yield is high; the amount of a side reaction product is small; the amount of a waste residual substance can be reduced; and the production efficiency is high.SOLUTION: The method for producing polyoxyalkylene monool or polyol comprises performing addition polymerization of an active hydrogen group-containing compound (A) with alkylene oxide (B) in the presence of at least one compound (E) selected from the group consisting of titanium alkoxides, zirconium alkoxides, and vanadium alkoxides, and a certain Lewis acid (C), wherein the molar ratio of the active hydrogen of (A) to (E) is 2,000 to 50,000; and the molar ratio of (E) to (C) is 0.3 to 3.
