摘要： PURPOSE:To improve comfortableness in operation by a marking device for a stamp duty payment gauge, etc., wherein a stamping drum is held at a stopping position by separating it from a paper face, rotated initially in stamping direction when the holding is released at start, returned and rotated after stamping is completed. A torque is given to a stamping drum 5 by a torque giving means consisting of a start cam 15, so that the drum rotates initially in the direction of stamping rotation. Accordingly, an operation distance from a stopping position to a stamping start position is shortened. When the stamping is completed, the stamping drum 5 returns to the stopping position by work of rotation starting force accumulated at a spring 18 in the stamping process.

The character selection cam 14 is rotated again and a positioning part 19 stops at the position to lift the latch 15 for holding the character wheel 10.
