    • PURPOSE:To prevent a helium case from exploding, by letting the helium gas escape when the pressure in the helium case excessively increases. CONSTITUTION:This equipment is provided with the following; a helium case 45 constituting a liquid helium vessel 50 wherein liquid helium is accommodated in a sealed space, and a superconducting magnet and a permanent current switch are dipped in the liquid helium, and a vacuum case 31 constituting a vacuum vessel 42 which surrounds the helium case 45, forms a sealed space, and vacuumizes the space. The helium case 45 is provided with a safety valve which is opened when the pressure in the helium case 45 reaches a previously set value, and lets the pressure escape into the vacum case 31. When the quenching is generated or heat in the atmosphere permeates into the liquid helium vessel 50, the liquid helium is vaporized and the pressure in the helium case 45 abnormally increases. Since the pressure is let escape into the vacuum case 31, the helium case 45 does not explode.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent burning of oxide superconducting material by a method wherein the temperature rise caused by the abnormality in the oxide superconducting material and the increase in electric resistance are detected in early stage, and a power source is cut off. CONSTITUTION:The current lead is composed of a high temperature side lead 2 with a current lead, made of good conductive metal, with which the exciting current sent from an external power source is applied to the superconducting coil 10 which is housed in a vacuum heat insulating container and maintained at a cryogenic temperature, a low-temperature side lead 5 consisting of oxide superconducting material, and a material which is series-connected to the intermediate connection fitting 6, to be connected to the intermediate connection fitting 6, to be used to connect both of the above-mentioned leads, and cooled by low temperature refrigerant gas GHe. The abnormal conduction and the abnormal temperature of the low temperature side lead 5 are detected by a potentional difference detector 21 and a temperature detector 23, and abnormality protecting device 20, which instructs the breaking of a circuit breaker 13, is provided on a judgement part 24.
