    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic control system for an internal combustion engine capable of performing soft shutoff of the primary current of an ignition coil in an optimum time.SOLUTION: The electronic control system for the internal combustion engine includes: a power switching device that applies or shuts off the primary current of the ignition coil of the internal combustion engine and generates a voltage for making the ignition plug of the internal combustion engine generate a spark discharge on the secondary side of the ignition coil; and a control unit that energizes or shuts off the power switching element. The control unit includes a circuit unit which performs the soft shutoff of the power switching device so as to prevent the ignition plug from producing the spark discharge, and in accordance with the characteristics of the power switching device, the control unit changes the characteristics of the soft shutoff halfway through the shutoff operation.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of a pulse crack in an ignition signal due to induction noise in an internal combustion engine ignitor in which the ignition signal is inputted from a control device comprising a protective capacitor connected to an output terminal.
      SOLUTION: A first Zener diode 22 is connected between a first input terminal 21 and a control IC outer ground 27. In a control IC 23, a second Zener diode 29 is connected between a second input terminal 28 and a control IC inner ground 23a provided in the control IC 23. Between the first input terminal 21 and the second input terminal 28, a second resistance 26 is connected for restricting lowering of the potential of the second input terminal 28 when the second Zener diode 29 becomes a conduction state. Occurrence of a pulse crack in the ignition signal IGt' inputted to the second input terminal 28 is thus prevented.
