    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a leather material for embossing by which the leather material can endure the embossing under severe conditions and can reliably maintain a dense three-dimensional pattern for a long period of time after the embossing.
      SOLUTION: The leather material is manufactured through processes of tanning raw leather with chromium, re-tanning using a chromium tanning agent and stuffing. In the process of re-tanning, the leather obtained in the tanning process is re-tanned by using a zirconium tanning agent instead of a chromium tanning agent or together with a chromium tanning agent so as to adjust flexibility of the leather obtained in the tanning process, with a small elongation in an embossing process, compared to a leather material re-tanned with a chromium tanning agent. Further, by using a vegetable tannin and synthetic tannin to impregnate the leather obtained in the tanning process, softness and elasticity of the leather are increased, and the obtained leather material is suitable for embossing by die pressing.
