    • PURPOSE:To uniformly improve the surface roughness of a spherical surface as a whole by previously forming a spherical head part to a spherical form so that the radius in the axis line direction becomes slightly longer and improving the surface roughness also of the spherical surface in the vicinity of the edge part by applying the rolling process for correcting the slightly longer axis. CONSTITUTION:A spherical head part 3 is shaped into a jujube form having a slightly longer axis in the axis line direction, and then the spherical head part 3 of a ball stud 1 is pressed onto the rolling surfaces 14 and 14 in revolution by revolving the rolling rollers 13 and 13 as shown on the left half of the figure. Then, the spherical surface 7 in the vicinity of the edge part contacts earlier than the spherical surface 5 in the vicinity of the equator line, and the spherical surface 7 in the vicinity of the edge part is corrected by the pressing force due to the rolling rollers, and the spherical surface 5 in the vicinity of the equator line is corrected. Therefore, after rolling, each of the length of the radius 10 in the vicinity of the equator line and the length of the radius 12 in the vicinity of the edge part becomes L, and the surface roughness is improved similarly on the spherical surface 9 in the vicinity of the equator line and the spherical surface 10 in the vicinity of the edge part, and the surface roughness of a spherical surface 4 can be improved uniformly as a whole.

    • A head rotatable about an axis for machining and simultaneously polishing the peripheral surfaces of shafts or the like, comprises a support plate provided with a central opening through which a shaft to be machined and polishing may extend. A plurality of tool supports are mounted in a star-like manner on the support plate adjustable in radial direction toward a shaft extending through the central opening. The tool supports alternatingly carry at inner ends knives or polishing rolls. A central adjustment device is provided for simultaneously adjusting of the tools carried by the tool supports through equal distances in radial direction toward the workpiece. The central adjustment is carried out by a plurality of angular drives, each including a bevel gear for each tool support and at least one gear ring with which the bevel gears mesh. It is also possible to adjust all tool supports carrying the knives independent from all tool supports carrying the polishing rolls in which case two gear rings are provided which are turnably mounted on the support plate concentric with the axis of the head.

    • PURPOSE:To smooth the rugged inside face by pressing the taper section of a work having a center hole and an angular taper section extended radially with machining pieces of a right triangle shape in a taper hole finishing tool of a mold pattern or the like. CONSTITUTION:For machining, a work piece 1 is put below a pressing device 25, next the hollow spindle 15 of a tool is inserted into a center hole 2 and machining pieces 16, 17 are inserted into an angular taper section 3, and outside machining faces 18a, 19a are brought into contact with inside faces 6, 7. An insertion body 12 is mounted on a large-diameter side end face 23, then the pressing device 25 is operated, and a jig main body 11 is pushed in via the insertion body 12. Thereby, the outside machining faces 18a, 19a press the inside faces 6, 7 with a large pressing force by the wedge effect and crush and smooth the raggedness. Then, the jig main body 11 is removed from the work piece 1 and the inside faces are finished. This tool can smooth the work with high efficiency and the quality is stabilized.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the cost of installation and construction and elongate the life of a worked surface by vanishing the surface receiving thrust load of a rotary shaft with a working roller secured fixedly to a shaft supported by a housing attachable to a lathe or the like. CONSTITUTION:The bracket section 1b of a housing 1 is attached to a tool rest of a lathe, and a work W is attached to a spindle of the lathe. The outer peripheral surface of a working roller section 3a of a working roller 3 contacts linearly a surface f' to be worked of a work W (surface receiving thrust load) with a predetermined press force, while the working roller 3 is driven to rotate by the rotation of the work W. Then, between the outer peripheral surface of the roller section 3a and the surface f' is produced a slight slip adjusted by a lock nut 9 in a screw section 2e of a shaft 2' and since the surface layer portion of the surface f' is plastically worked by the roller section 3a, since it is pressed by the predetermined press force. Thus, the front surface of the surface f' is finished to be an elaborate smooth plane.
