SOLUTION: In this brake booster device, a brake booster is divided into a constant pressure chamber and a variable pressure chamber by a diaphragm, to which the piston is fixed. The piston is provided with a built-in valve mechanism for selecting communication between the variable pressure chamber and the atmospheric air or the constant pressure chamber on the basis of operation of a brake pedal, and the forward and backward movement of the diaphragm based on a pressure difference between both inside the chambers is transmitted from the piston to an output rod through a reaction force mechanism. The output rod pulls the piston rod of the master cylinder device backward to generate the brake hydraulic pressure. The output rod is extended as a piston rod inside the master cylinder of the master cylinder device, and the master piston is stretched in a tip of the piston rod freely to float, while restricting the relative movement forward in the axial direction.
