    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shear punching die assembly which releases retention of a workpiece without using any hydraulic mechanism when releasing the retention of the workpiece punched out from a material and retained by an ejector side.SOLUTION: The shear punching die assembly includes: a main punch 113; an ejector 123 installed on a seat via an energizing means 124 so as to be always energized toward the main punch 113; and a position retaining means capable of retaining for a certain period a position of the ejector 123 placed at a mold clamping position against the energization force of the energizing means 124. The position retaining means is constituted of: a fitted projection 142a whose edge can be fitted to a recessed part 123a provided on an outer peripheral surface of the ejector 123; an energizing means 141 for the fitted projection which energizes the fitted projection 142a to the outer peripheral surface of the ejector 123; and a releasing means 130 for releasing the fitted state of the fitted projection 142a into the recessed part 123a when an upper die 120 and a lower die 110 are opened by a certain amount by the die opening movement.

In addition, there is provided an ejector block 42 capable of retaining the elevated position of the ejector 23 at the seaming position against the urging force of the second elastic member 24 for a predetermined period.
