CONSTITUTION: The vertical faces of a columnar diamond 1 are the face (111) which are parallel to each other, and the side faces are the faces (211) parallel to the other, and the end face is cut with the angle of about 60 deg. to the longitudinal direction of the column and with the angle of 23 deg. to the perpendicular plane to the side to form the face (111). The columnar diamond is embedded in a dresser body 3 so that the dressing face is the face (111) which is most difficult to wear. As a result, the wear resistance of the dressing face is excellent, the service life of the dresser is improved, and the stability of the dressing function can be increased.

CONSTITUTION: In a super abrasive grain grinding wheel to be used in grinding work or the like of a nonferrous material such as ceramics and an iron and steel material such as carbon steel, a binding phase of an abrasive grain layer 1 is formed of metallic powder by adding Cu 33 to 75wt.%, Sn 18 to 55wt.%, graphite 0 to 25wt.% or one or more kinds of Fe, Co, Ni, Zn, Ag, Ti, Mn, Cr and W in addition to these. Base metal 2 is mainly composed of Al, and is formed of metallic powder by adding Si 20 to 50wt.% or one or more kinds of Cu, Mg, Fe, Mn, Ni and Zn in addition to this. A grinding wheel is manufactured by integrally sintering and joining the abrasive grain layer 1 and the base metal 2. The base metal 2 is formed so that a thermal expansion coefficient of a sintered body becomes 10 to 18×10 / deg.C.
