    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measurement method and apparatus by which both of carbon dioxide and a gas component having low infrared absorption can be precisely and reliably measured by utilizing infrared absorption by CO2 and employing a sample cell having relatively long distance. SOLUTION: Infrared rays 2 emitted out of a wide band infrared ray source 1 are passed through a mixed gas 6 contained in a cell 4 for measurement, the passed infrared rays 2 are passed through a light band filter 10 which transmits light rays with wavelength within at least certain first wavelength band, and the intensity of the infrared rays which are passed through the filter 10 is measured by a detector 11 installed under the first band filter 10 in the infrared raw direction. Moreover, at least one gas component is specified and/or the concentration of at least one gas component is measured and the infrared rays are passed through a light band filter 12 which can transmit light rays with wavelength within a certain second wavelength band, the intensity of the infrared rays passed through the filter 12 is measured by a detector 13 installed under the second band filter 12 in the infrared ray direction.

    • PURPOSE: To make conspicuous contract between organs to be image-formed by providing an action to produce spin inversion and an action on radiation for not producing resonance in a preparing portion for inspection based on magnetic resonance imaging method. CONSTITUTION: Prior to a normal inversion recovery sequence, a sample is exposed to radiation (SP) for not producing resonance, them an inversion pulse IP rotates magnetization by about 180 deg., the magnetization is recovered to a balanced value during an inversion time TI and then the partially recovered magnetization is rotated by a required angle by an exciting pulse VP. For produced contrast of organs, the radiation for not producing resonance has no influence on the magnetization of a hydrogen atomic nucleus of fat molecules and has a little influence on the magnetization of molecules of water contained in blood. On the other hand, the magnetization of a muscular tissue as protein muscle is considerably reduced. If a parameter related to the radiation for not producing resonance is properly set, signals corresponding to fats and muscular tissues are eliminated when a value t0 is selected for the inversion time TI.

    • PURPOSE: To mark a prescribed area of a film with patient information and other data required for X-ray tomography by providing a marking means which comes into contact with the film and individually controlling the operation of each marking means in a marking device by displacement in the vertical direction of character and number marks at the time of marking. CONSTITUTION: Heat sources 11 provided in a thermal printing head 2 functioning as a marking unit can be brought into contact with a film 6 by a spring 12. For example, a separate conductor piece 13 is used to realize heating by heat sources 11. Contact pins 14 and spring energizing means 16 are attached to this separate conductor piece 13. Contact pins 15 themselves are provided with conductors which bring them into contact with corresponding heat sourcces 11, and separate heating from each heat source 11 is independently controlled for the contact pin 15 to which each contact pin 14 corresponds. Thus, the film can be marked with patient discrimination information and required information related to diagnosis, tomographic processing, etc.

    • PURPOSE: To eliminate a fluctuation of pump characteristic and a main tube's dependence on its instability by comparing a measured pulse width with the pre-determined pulse width threshold and by indicating the on-use cuff size in terms of the pulse width measured. CONSTITUTION: The sphygmomanometer for newborn babies starts the pump- pouring operation via the pump 1 for making a positive pressure before identifying the cuff, whose ON/OFF valve 2 is kept opened for a short period. Either the pressure or the acoustic pulse reaching the pressure detector 12 via the cuff 8 or bypassing it, and the controller calculates the pulse width based on the signal transmitted from the pressure detector 12. Every threshold value for the pulse widths or sections are kept set into the controller 16 that compare the measured pulse width with the threshold value to identify a larger or smaller cuff, according to the finding which side the measured width falls, below or above the threshold value. If the measured width exceeds the threshold value, the controller identifies it as a smaller cuff to operate the system required for the smaller cuff 8. This avoids the defects of the main tube and the fluctuation problem of the pump characteristic.
