    • PURPOSE:To efficiently form a conductive metallized layer which is large in joining strength and uniform by performing calcination at specified temp. in the nonoxidative atmosphere of the inside of a closable vessel made of aluminum nitride in the case of producing the sintered body by a cosintering method. CONSTITUTION:The surface treating compositions 2 having high-m.p. metallic substance as a main component are stuck on at least single surface of the molded body 1 of AlN powder. This molded body 1 is housed in a closable vessel 3 made of AlN and calcined at 1500-2000 deg.C in the nonoxidative atmosphere. When this calcination temp. is lower than the above-mentioned range, sintering of AlN is made insufficient. When it is higher, decomposition of AlN is caused and wettability of the compositions 2 and the base material 1 is lowered. Further when the vessel 3 is unutilized, sintering defective is caused on the surface and the circumferential part of the molded body 1. Thereby ununiformity of sintering density and calcination contraction is caused and thereby deformation, etc., are caused. Further when a plate jig 5 made of AlN and/or BN as a main component is brought into contact with the compositions 2 and calcination is performed, a product excellent in smoothness is easily obtained.
