CONSTITUTION:The subject booster is provided with a control valve 32 interlocked with an input stem 35 inserted within a valve cylinder 25 which is connected with the rear end of a piston boss 10 connecting a front and a rear diaphragm 5 and 7 with each other. The piston boss 10 is formed with No.1 port 30 communicating the inside of a valve cylinder 25 with both negative pressure chambers 2a and 3a, and is formed with No.2 port 31 communicating the valve cylinder 25 with both working chambers 2b and 3b so that a control valve 32 allows No.2 port 31 to be communicated with No.1 port 30 or atmosphere while being switched over. In this case, No.2 port 31 is composed of a port 31A in the axial direction and a port 31R in the radial direction in such a way that these ports 31A and 31R are arranged at the same position in the circumferential direction of the boss 10 so as to be connected with each other via the bend surface (r) on the piston boss 10 smoothly continued to the inner surface of each port.

    • PURPOSE:To transmit inclining moment applied onto a valve cylinder accurately to an output rod without causing input loss of an input rod by absorbing the inclining moment through slight mutual swing between the valve cylinder, a front booster piston and the output rod. CONSTITUTION:Stepping force of a brake pedal 24, i.e. input from an input rod 25, is transmitted through a valve piston 28, a valve cylinder 8, a resilient piston 40 and an output piston 41 to an output rod 43 so as to output driving force, which is a sum of differential pressure between respective booster pistons 4, 6 and the input from the input rod 25, through the output rod 43. Since the input rod 25 swings with respect to a valve piston 28 according to the rotary position of the brake pedal 24, inclining moment functions onto the valve cylin der 8., but since the cylindrical shaft 14 of the valve cylinder 8 and a front booster piston 4 and the output rod 43 can swing slightly each other, the inclin ing moment is absorbed and thereby forcible gouging force is not produced thus functioning a brake master cylinder smoothly. Consequently, input of the input rod can be transmitted accurately to be output rod without causing loss.

    • PURPOSE:To make a negative pressure booster always fulfill a good boosting function by connecting a negative pressure accumulator to the negative pressure chamber of said negative pressure booster via a closing valve and connecting a pressure sensor which outputs a valve opening signal to said closing valve. CONSTITUTION:An air ejector 12 which generates a negative pressure higher than a boost negative pressure is connected to the intake system of an engine E. A negative pressure accumulator 21 which is connected to the negative pressure generating part of the air ejector 12, is connected to the negative pressure chamber 3 of a negative pressure booster B via an always closing type closing valve 22. And, a pressure sensor 23 which outputs a valve opening signal for opening the closing valve 22 is also connected. Even if the negative pressure in the negative pressure chamber has dropped, the negative pressure in the negative pressure chamber can be rapidly recovered by feeding negative pressure from the negative pressure accumulator 21. Thereby, the negative pressure booster can always fulfill a good boosting function.

Thereby, a high negative pressure can be rapidly supplied from the negative pressure accumulator to the negative pressure chamber, giving a good boosting function to the negative pressure booster.

Thus the two chambers are balanced in terms of pressure.
