    • PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy by finishing machined parts on both sides of a magnetic gap, for width control and a negative pressure generating part by an ion etching work by using a metallic mask of a thin metallic film. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic gap 2, and magnetic materials 21, 22 to which a gap depth has been worked are butted and brought to a bonding work, and a track 1, a negative pressure generating part 3 and a positive pressure generating part 4 are worked on the upper face and covered with a metallic thin film 5. Onto this film 5, a photoresist 7 is applied, and thereafter, a track of a narrow high accuracy is placed on a mask pattern for working of the generating part 3 and a mask is formed by means of a photolithography. A metallic mask is formed by using this mask as a pattern and etching the film 5, and thereafter, the generating part 3 is formed by means of an ion etching by using this metallic mask. In the end, a part of a magnetic head provided with the generating parts 3, 4 is obtained by removing the residual part of the metallic mask, it is cross-cut in the orthogonal direction of the gap 2, and a magnetic head provided with a broad side scraped part 6 of the track 1 is obtained by means of etching.

    • PURPOSE:To produce easily a magnetic head having a gap of high accuracy by forming a magnetic head slider for floppy disk into a plate containing magnetic gaps for record/reproduction and erasion and joining the cores for record/reproduction and erasion to said plate. CONSTITUTION:Grooves 92 and 92' are formed to each of side faces of nonmagnetic material blocks 91 and 91' respectively, and magnetic materials 52 and 52' for erasion head having a thickness smaller than the depth of grooves 92 and 92' are recessed into these grooves. While the end faces of two ferrite thin plates 11 and 11' are butted to each other to obtain a composite plate containing a magnetic gap 21. Then blocks 91 and 91' are joined to both sides of the composite plate so that the gap 21 is positioned at the center between materials 52 and 52' of the blocks 91 and 91'. Thus a block member is obtained. This block member is cut into plural slice bars to obtain a slider 9 having high accuracy and uniformity. Then a record/reproduction core 12 and an erasion core 13' are joined to magnetic materials 11a and 11a' and 51 and 51' of the slider 9 respectively. In such a way, the high processing accuracy is not required for cores 12 and 13 and a magnetic head having high accuracy is obtained with an easy assembling procedure.
