    • PURPOSE: To maintain annular strength against high pressure and an oil content adequate for good lubrication, by prescribing the alloy composition of each of an inner layer, which constitutes the sliding surface of an oil-containing bearing, and an outer layer, which constitutes the body of the bearing, to sinter both the layers integrally with each other to completely conjoin them together.
      CONSTITUTION: An inner layer, which constitutes the sliding surface of a bearing, is made of a copper alloy comprising 8 to 10% of tin and the rest of copper and unavoidable impurities. An outer layer, which constitutes the body of the bearing, is made of an iron alloy comprising 0.75W9% of copper, 0.5W6% of tin and the rest of iron and unavoidable impurities. Since the powdery metals as the materials for the inner and the outer layers are similar to each other in bulk and fluidity and in dimensional change at sintering, the powdery materials for both the layers are completely sintered and conjoined to each other so that a bearing which has high strength and has no wrong bonding and cracks and whose two-layer oil contents are maintained is provided.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain the cam follower surface requiring no abrasive processing and the like after sintering by a method wherein the cam follower surface of a rocker arm tip is formed by direct pressing of ceramic powder by a punch surface. CONSTITUTION:In a punch 4 having a punch surface 4a of which surface roughness is finished less than 1.5S, a ceramic powder is pressed in crossing direction for a cam follower surface 7a, then a rocker arm tip 7 is formed by sintering, the chip 7 is fixed to a light alloy rocker arm by casting. The punch surface forms directly the cam follower surface, consequently, the follower surface can be formed under surface roughness condition correspond to the punch surface, accordingly, the follower surface having an excellent surface roughness can be obtained by sintering without requiring abrasive processing and the like.

    • PURPOSE:To assemble simply and accurately a cam shaft without using a jig by a method wherein a cam piece is engaged to a shaft via a key, a journal piece is fixed at the one side of the piece, the other side of the cam piece is pressed with a spring. CONSTITUTION:A cam shaft 10 is assembled as follows; a key is inserted into a key groove, cam pieces 14a-14d are engaged with a shaft 11, journal pieces 13a, 13b are fixed at the one side of cam pieces 14a-14d. Spring 16a, 16b are arranged at the other side of cam pieces, cam pieces 14a-14d are pressed at the journal pieces 13a, 13b. By said assembling, each component is able to be assembled simply, speedy, further accurately without using a jig. A heating work in a heating furnace is not required after assembling, therefore, components do not affected by a heat history, the material characteristics such as a strength and the like do not decreased.

    • PURPOSE: To obtain a roller chain bush having a high strength and a high hardness and excellent in abrasion resistance, by preparing a composition containing specified rates of Cu, Cr, C, Mo, W and Fe, and providing the composition with a specified oil-contg. ratio while forming a surface-hardened layer.
      CONSTITUTION: A composition comprising, by weight %, 1W7% Cu, 0.2W2.5% Cr, 0.5W1.2% C, 0.2W10% of one or two of Mo and W, optionally 0.05W3% of one or more of P, B and Si, and the balance being Fe and inevitable impurities, is prepared. The oil-contg. ratio of the composition is controlled at 5W35vol%, while a surface- hardened layer is formed. Thus, a sintered oil-contg. roller chain bush having the same strength as that of a conventional one, an excellent abrasion resistance and an excellent lubricativity is produced at a low cost.
