    • PURPOSE:To reduce an equipment cost and to uniformize a water supply by forming a water jacket with an outer cylinder and attachable and detachable inner cylinder and arranging the manihold for water supply to the outer cylinder and a spray nozzle to the inner cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A water jacket 20 is composed of an outer cylinder 2, upper part cover body 9 and flanged inner cylinder 8 and the outer cylinder 2 is taken to be of the structure usable as well for the dimension of a billet 5. In this case the manifold (m) for water supply is fitted to the outer cylinder 2 and plural spray nozzles 3 are arranged at the inside of the inner cylinder 8 as well. A cooling water (w) is projected to a mold main body 1 from the nozzle 3 via a water supply hole 6, vibration table 7 and manihold (w). At the time of changing the dimension of the billet 5 the inner cylinder 8 and mold 1 are changed with the necessary dimentional one. Owing to the inner cylinder 8 and mold 1 being exchangeable the equipment cost is reduced and the water supply of the cooling water (w) is uniformized by the formation of a water jacket 20.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the cooling effect and life of a mold plate for continuous casting formed by providing cut grooves to a steel plate joined to a copper alloy until the copper alloy on the base is exposed by welding individually seats for bolts to the upper parts of the cut grooves. CONSTITUTION:The mold is formed by joining a mold plate 1 and a reinforcing plate 2 and cooling water paths 3 are cut to the plate 2. The open parts of the cooling water depth 3 are made into closed pipelines and a supporting plate 4 is fastened to the mold plate M in order to support the plate M. The bolt seats 7 made of the same materials as the material of the plate 2 are welded to the paths 3 and ribs 6 provided between the paths 3. The plate 4 and the plate 2 are fastened by means of bolts 5. The sectional area of the cooling water paths 3 and the effective area of the cooling surface are thus made approximately uniform in the longitudinal direction of the mold, by which the mold having the excellent cooling effect and the long life is thus obtd.
