    • PURPOSE:To raise the efficiency of combustion while suppressing the generation of NOx by incorporating a recirculation system in boilers and various combustors burning low-quality solid or liquid fuels. CONSTITUTION:A fuel charged from a nozzle 42 is gasified and partly burnt by primary air in a fluidized bed 1 to form primary combustion region of a reductive atmosphere by which the generation of NOx in the combustion is controlled. Unburnt gases and SOx generated in the primary combustion region are introduced into a jet-type reaction furnace 3, where an oxidative atmosphere is formed by air introduced from a secondary air jet nozzle 34 to accelerate desulfurization reaction by lime stone and the perfect combustion of unburnt gases. Solids collected in a dust collector 10 are separated into carbon content and calcium content in a separator, and the carbon content is recirculated through the nozzle 27 to the upper surface of the fluidized bed. Calcium oxide necessary for desulfurization reaction is also recirculated through the nozzle 26 to the lower part of the jet-type reaction furnace. The efficiency of carbon burning and desulfurization rate can thus be enhanced.

A cooling tower 23 for cooling the cooling water to ordinary temperature is installed in the cooling water circulation line 11, and at the same time a heat exchanger 24 (a brine refrigerator 26) for cooling the cooling water to ordinary temperature or lower is installed on the downstream side of the cooling tower 23 in the circulating direction of the cooling water.
