    • PURPOSE:To provide a process for production of the photosensitive drum which uniformly applies photosensitive liquid by preventing the reduction in the film thickness of a photosensitive material generated at one end of cylindrical drums, improves the level of the photosensitive films by forming uniform photosensitive body films and controlling the evaporation rate of a solvent and reducing the circumferential end face angles of these drums. CONSTITUTION:This process for production of the photosensitive drum has a stage for continuously applying the photosensitive material on the surfaces of the cylindrical drums 1A, 1B while perpendicularly moving the photosensitive material from the upper part to the lower part of the cylindrical drums 1A, 1B. The liquid pools at the bottom ends of the cylindrical drums 1A, 1B generated by the downflow of the coating liquid films of the previously coated cylindrical drums 1A, 1B while moving perpendicularly upward come into contact with the bottom ends of the cylindrical drums 1A, 1B and flow down and shift to the thin-film parts at the top ends of the succeeding cylindrical drums 1A, 1B; thereafter, the precedently coated cylindrical drums 1A, 1B are disconnected from the ends of the succeedingly coated cylindrical drums 1A, 1B.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a high density and high resolution image formation and to be the high performance and the little fatigue deterioration by selecting the optimum ranges of an average surface charge density, a DC development electric field, etc., of a toner and a photosensitive body having a mutually close relation. CONSTITUTION:The surface area mean particle size of fine particles of magnetic toner is 2-10mum, a magnetic susceptibility in a magnetic field at 1,000 oersted magnetic field strength is 10-40emu/g, the absolute value of an average surface charge density of the developer in which the magnetic toner is a major component is 10.1-4.8InC/cm , the absolute value of an average surface charge density of the unexposed part in a development region of the photosensitive body is 125-125InC/cm , the DC development electric field is 11X10 -10 IV/cm at an absolute value, the amplitude of the AC bias is 0.5X4.0KV (p-p), and the frequency wave number is 0.1-10KHz. Hence in spite of the particle size of the developer, the material quality, the material quality of the photosensitive body, and the structure of the developing advice, etc., the control of the image quality can be carried out easily, and the high quality image is obtained in stability at many number of times of the repeating image formulations.

    • PURPOSE:To form an image of high quality having excellent image resolution and density by applying developer of two components containing particulate toner to an organic photoconductive photosensitive body such as OPC and forming an image with the aid of giving a specified condition to image forming conditions. CONSTITUTION:An original 2 on an original platen 1 is scanned in the direction shown by an arrow with the aid of a light source 3 (3a and 3b). With the scanning light thereof, the OPC photosensitive drum 10 where uniform electrostatic charge is previous ly given by an electrostatic charger 6 so as to make the surface average electric charge density thereof 25-125nC/cm is irradiated through mirror groups 4a - 4d, a lens 5 or the like. Then, the image is exposed and an electrostatic latent image is formed. The electrostatic latent image is normally developed by a magnetic brush method with the aid of a developing device 7 housing the developer of the two components consisting of magnetic carrier and non-magnetic particulate toner having the surface area whose average grain size is 2-8mum and the average surface electric charge density whose absolute value is (3-7)X10 C/cm . Then, a toner image is formed on the drum 10. Thus, the image of the high quality having the excellent resolution and the image density is formed.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor constituted to prevent the ends of a coating layer on a photoreceptor drum from being peeled starting from the end of a coating layer in the case of removing the coating layer at both ends of the drum, and made free from toner accumulation and a defect such as a black spot caused by the scattering of the powder of the coating layer and toner, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor is provided with the coating layer including at least a photoreceptive layer on cylindrical conductive base substance. When the average of the film thickness of the coating layer at a center part in the image forming width direction of the conductive base substance is defined as P (μm), the average of the maximum value of the film thickness outside an image forming area is defined as Pmax (μm), and the average of a distance from a point where the maximum value is formed to the end of the coating layer is defined as D (μm), the photoreceptor satisfies both following expressions (1) and (2).
