    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase joint strength by projecting a plurality of join members in the same direction in the external surface axial direction of the main pipe of a steel pipe sheet pile and forming a plurality of through-holes to the main pipe among the joint members. SOLUTION: Tie plate-shaped joint members 2 in two rows are projected in the same direction at regular intervals in the external-surface axial direction of the main pipe 1 of the steel pipe sheet pile while the joints 2 are also installed similarly at the symmetric positions on the reverse side of the main pipe 1 as required, and a plurality of through-holes 3 are formed to sections held by the joints 2 in the main pipe 1, thus constituting the steel pipe sheet pile A. The joints 2 are driven to a ground towards the adjacent sheet pile A side, the inside of the main pipe 1 and sections surrounded by the joints 2 are excavated, earth-removed and washed, and filled with concrete, and the sheet pipes A are connected mutually in the case of the execution of works. The adhesive strength of concrete is increased by forming irregularities to the internal side faces of the joints 2 at request, and displacement is prevented by forming retaining sections guiding the joints 2 of the sheet pile A adjacent to the front end sections of the joints 2. Thus, the shear strength of the joint sections of the steel pipe sheet pile can be improved simply and remarkably.

    • PURPOSE:To enable a foundation pile to easily pierce through a layer having a large N value by applying an elevating action, temporarily to an open end pile body in accordance with a strength of an earth layer at the forward end of the pile, which can be obtained from a drive-in torque and a drive-in rotational speed, during the open end pile is pressed in. CONSTITUTION:In a construction method in which an open end pile which is provided, on the inner and outer surface thereof, with thread-like projections is rotated and pressed in, a strength of an earth layer at the forward end of the pile is obtained from a drive-in torque and a drive-in rotational speed. Further, if a layer having a large N value is presented among intermediate layers within a predetermined drive-in section, an elevating action is temporarily applied to the pile body in accordance with these obtained strength of the earth layer at the forward end of the pile, with a stroke in a range by which soil therearound is not disturbed. With this arrangement, the pile fan easily pierce through an intermediate layer even having an N value higher than 50, and it is possible to attain the press-in of the pile up to a predetermined drive-in depth while avoiding blocking the open end of the pile.
