    • PURPOSE:To smoothly supply raw materials with an approximately uniform distribution by respectively and specifically disposing openings in the lower parts of an outer cylinder which is supported inclinedly by a vibrating device and an inner cylinder which is rotatably supported therein and receives the raw materials. CONSTITUTION:This supplying device 20 has double cylindrical structures consisting of the outer cylinder 21 and inner cylinder 22 having the downward slit-shaped opening 23B and longitudinal opening 24B respectively in the lower parts ans is supported with inclination from horizontal at an angle theta. The entire part of the device 20 is vibrated by the vibrating device 28 at the time of accepting the pellets 12 supplied from a hopper 10 via the opening 23A, 24A of the outer cylinder 21 and the inner cylinder 22. As a result, the pellets 12 from the opening 24A are rolled and the lower positions in the inner cylinder 22 are successively filled with these pellets and, therefore, the pellets are distributed approximately uniformly in the longitudinal direction. Next, the opening 24B aligns to the opening 23B when the inner cylinder 22 is rotated about 90 deg. and, therefore, the pellets 12 around the opening 24B fall to a lower basket by passing the opening 23B. At this time, the distribution of the pellets 12 around the opening 24B is uniform and, therefore, the falling distribution into the basket is made approximately uniform as well.

    • PURPOSE:To provide the titled roll which maintains a uniform temp. over the entire part of the roll and prevents the thermal deformation thereof by providing plural pieces of heat pipes in the roll axis direction in a shell and providing annular grooves connecting both ends of said heat pipes to each other in the shell. CONSTITUTION:Plural pieces of the heat pipes 18 are provided in the roll shell 4 along the roll axis direction thereof and these pipes 18 are connected to each other by grooves 19 provided in the inner circumferential direction. The shell 4 is heated by a heater 5. Internal working fluid flows back and forth between the pipes 18 and maintains the pipes 18 respectively at the same temp. and the same pressure according to the above-mentioned constitution; in addition, the pipes 18 are respectively maintained at and under the same temp. and pressure and the respective pipes 18 are maintained at and under the same temp. and pressure over the entire length thereof. As a result, the temp. over the entire surface of the roll is uniformized. The thermal deformation of the roll is, therefore, prevented, by which the rupture of a steel strip and the flawing of the plated surfaces thereof are prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To make the sheet thickness uniform in a transverse direction by providing divided water cooling chambers in a water cooling drum and alternately feeding and discharging cooling water to and from the respective divided water cooling chambers from a driving side and driven side. CONSTITUTION:The space between the inside peripheral surface of the drum 1 and the outside peripheral surface of an inside cylinder 12 is formed to the plural divided cooling chambers 10 by partition plates 11. Water feed paths 17 and drain paths 18 are alternately bored to both ends of the cylinder 12 in the peripheral direction. The cooling water is fed from a water feed port 5 through a water feed pipe 13 and the water feed path 17 to the divided water cooling chambers 10. The cooling water cools the drum 1 heated by a molten steel land is heated up by the drum. The cooling water is then drained through the respective drain paths 18 and a manifold 4 from a drain port 6. The driving side D and driven side W of the drum 1 are alternately distributed with high-temp. parts and low-temp. parts and the average temp. and expansion size on both sides are made the same. The difference in the sheet thickness size in the transverse direction is decreased and the sheet thickness is made uniform by the above-mentioned method.
