    • PURPOSE:To easily produce a plug for gas blowing by applying, in a vertical direction, a solution containing sublimable substance to the side face of a conical inner sheath made of refractory, filling an outer sheath onto the above, removing the sublimable substance by means of heating, and forming slits. CONSTITUTION:A truncated cone-shaped inner sheath 2 in which the upper cross section is smaller than the lower cross section is formed of a dense high alumina refractory castable containing >=95% Al2O3. A solution prepared by dissolving a sublimable substance, such as naphthalene, benzoic acid, and camphor, by a solvent, such as ether, is applied to the side face of the above inner sheath 2 into the state of strips 4 at prescribed spaces in a vertical direction. Subsequently, an outer sheat 3 of high alumina refractory consisting of the same material as the above inner sheath 2 is further formed on the above surface, and then, the sublimable substance is sublimed and removed by means of heating up to 110-220 deg.C, by which slits 5 for gas blowing are formed. By this method, a plug 1 for gas blowing excellent in strength and durability can be produced.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain the hot spraying repair material which is excellent in adhesive properties at the wide temp. zone while securing excellent corrosion resistance by blending aluminum salt of organic acid and sodium silicate or silica sol with refractory aggregate. CONSTITUTION:The hot spraying repair material is obtained by blending 0.5-3 wt.% aluminum salt of organic acid and 0.3-3 wt.% sodium silicate or silica sol with refractory aggregate. Sodium silicate and silica sol of a silicate-based binder show good adhesive properties at the low temp. zone of 800 deg.C or below. However, the adhesive properties are deteriorated by the effect of shrinkage, etc., of a constructed body when the temp. at a time of spraying is regulated to the high temp. region of 800 deg.C or more. Therefor the adhesive properties at the intermediate temp. zone of 800-1200 deg.C are enhanced by the effect of alumina sol which is produced by blending aluminum salt of organic acid. Accordingly, the hot spraying repair material excellent in adhesive properties at the intermediate temp. zone from the low temp. is obtained by simultaneously utilizing both.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain the above compsn. which can extremely shorten the time for adhesion, has extremely good shape holdability and is adequately usable as the joint material of bricks having a particularly low water absorptivity by compounding a specific small quantity of cut cords into a refractory mortar compsn. CONSTITUTION:The mortar compsn. is obtd. by compounding the refractory mortar compsn. with the cut cords (e.g.: braided cords, fiber cords, knitted cords, bundled cords, etc., of cotton, nylon, glass fibers, carbon fibers, etc., having the diameters of usually about 1/4 the joint thickness to the joint thickness and the lengths of usually about 1 to 10 the joint thickness) at 0.01 to 1 pt.wt. per 100 pts.wt. refractory aggregate (e.g.: SiC, Si, natural magnesia clinker, chamotte, etc.) in this compsn. The time for adhesion of the mortar compsn. is drastically reduced as compared with the time for adhesion of the conventional mortar compsn. to the extent of not impairing the ease of application. In addition, the shape holdability is extremely good and, therefore, the generation of the deformation of the joints, etc., during the application is obviated and the good installed bricks are obtd.
