    • PURPOSE: To improve accuracy for controlling a fixing temperature and to make an image quality stable by predicting a state before inputting of a power source from the surface temperature state of a fixing roller, a stored content and a temperature increase time and determining a control method immediately after inputting of power based on the prediction. CONSTITUTION: A fixation device control circuit stores a plurality of control points T1 to T6 with specified temperatures allocated thereto by a CPU 14 and controls a heating means at a control point T4 mainly while a temperature in a machine is stable. However, since the surface temperature of a fixing roller becomes high immediately after this is started when switching on/off of heating means 16 and 17 is controlled only at this control point in an unstable region, a roller surface temperature is made stable by switching a control point to T3 and T4 in the unstable region. For corrections by switching among the control points T1 to T6 in stages, control is performed by determining the operational state of the device thus far, that is, a control point from a state before inputting of power and a current temperature state. For example, when a state is lower than T1 in the case of turning a power source on, a state before inputting of power is predicted by calculating a temperature increase time until T2.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption by obtaining such circuit constitution that the supply/disconnection of a power source to supply power to plural detection means detecting the existence of toner, with which a developing device is filled, can be selected by a controller. SOLUTION: Each developing unit is filled with toner of each color, and the toner is supplied to a photoreceptor from a developing roll 5a at the time of developing. Light emitted from a light emitting sensor 501 is transmitted through an optical path 504 or intercepted in accordance with the existence of the toner in the developing unit. When a light receiving sensor 502 attached to a position where the transmitted light is received receives the light, an inside transistor 502a is turned on, and when it does not receive the light, the transistor 502a is kept in an off-state. Then, the existence of the toner is detected according to the difference of the state. The sensors 501 and 502 are controlled by a sensor turning on/off circuit 500 and optionally turned on/off according to an instruction from a CPU. In the case toner existence detecting function is not required, the power source of the detection means is turned off according to a control signal from the controller so as to reduce the power consumption.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always obtain stable cleaning ability regardless of environmental change and to stably output a high-quality image by connecting a current constant type power source to a cylindrical member. SOLUTION: A cleaning device is constituted of a brush roller 14, a recovery roller 15, a blade 16 and a high voltage power source 17. The roller 14 comes in contact with an intermediate transfer drum 5. The roller 15 is a metallic roller or a roller provided with a resistance layer on its surface and is arranged to bite at the roller 14. The blade abuts on the surface of the roller 15. After toner on the surface of the roller 15 is scraped by the blade, it is carried to a waste toner bottle and discarded. The current constant type high voltage power source 17 is connected to the roller 15. Thus, the fluctuation of the cleaning ability caused by the change in brush resistance is restrained to a minimum because the voltage of the brush is changed to be self-compensated. Therefore, the excellent cleaning performance is always obtained regardless of the change in environmental conditions.

    • PURPOSE: To stably control a surface temp. of a fixing roller, even if a power source voltage is varied at the time of standby, by providing surface temp. state detecting means of the fixing roller, detecting means for the power source voltage variation at the time of standby, and the means for performing a correction of on-time of heating means when the variation of the power source voltage is detected. CONSTITUTION: The surface temp. of the fixing roller is detected by applying a property of a thermistor 1 as temp. detecting means whose resistivity is varied by the ambient temp., and comparing the voltage imparted the weighing in the voltage dividing circuit composed of the thermistor terminal of (a) point and resistors 51 to 58, by comparing units 59 to 65 as the surface temp. state detecting means. The output of the comparing units 59 to 64 among the detected temp. are inputted to a CPU 14, for obtaining here a varying amount corresponding to a reference temp., on deciding whether turning on or off heating means 16 and 17, and thus the signal of the deciding result is inputted into a NAND circuit 67. Moreover, the output of the comparing unit 65 is inputted from a NOT circuit 66 to the NAND circuit 67, and then a control signal is communicated to a switch 15 for turning on/off of the heating means 16 and 17.
