    • PURPOSE:To detect automatically the life of a removing reagent of gaseous hydrogen generated especially from a closed circulation type absorption refrigerator with high accuracy, by forming a metallic oxide thin film on the inner surface of a ceramic tube as the removing reagent of gaseous hydrogen and detecting the variation of electric conductivity of this film. CONSTITUTION:A detector 5 for gaseous hydrogen removing reagent is obtained e.g. by forming a Cu thin film and heating said film at 500 deg.C in the atmosphere to form a CuO thin film 2 of 100-1,000Angstrom thickness on the inner surface of a ceramic tube 1 in the neighborhood of a gas exit 4 of a gaseous hydrogen removing reactor 3 in a hydrogen removing apparatus of a closed circulation type absorption refrigerator carrying out concentration of an aqueous LiBr solution, dilution of a cooling medium and heat exchange. This detector 5 is used by fixing with a packing 8 made of stainless steel on the exit 4 of the hydrogen removing apparatus. When the CuO in the reactor 3 loses the H2 removing capacity, the film 2 of the detector 5 becomes CuO Cu2O Cu and the face that the electric conductivity is varied is detected. The detection is carried out during unmanned operation of the refrigerator and safety operation is carried out by changing over the reactor 3 to a preliminary device 13 because 0.1ppm H2 concentration can be detected.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the corrosion of stainless steel or the like inexpensively and simply during pickling by dipping the steel in a pickling soln. at a low temp. prior to the pickling. CONSTITUTION:When stainless steel or the like is pickled at a high temp., it is dipped in a pickling soln. with low corrosiveness at a temp. below the pickling temp. to form a stable coat on each steel surface. After slowly raising the temp. of the pickling soln., the steel is pickled at the prescribed temp. Since no corrosion inhibitor is used, this method produces a high pickling effect. The stable coat on the steel surface is not spoiled by the pickling at the high temp., so that corrosion of the steel surface can be prevented effectively.

    • PURPOSE: To remove iron content which was dissolved from main equipment, apparatuses, and line pipes and accoumulated in system water, by subjecting a drain, from a high pressure feed water heater in a power generating plant system, to magnetic separation.
      CONSTITUTION: In the system of a power generating plant, feed-water flows through a condenser 2, a plurality of hot wells 3, a condensate line pipe 4, a condensate pump 5, a condensate desalinator 6, a condensate-pressurizing pump 7, low pressure feed-water heaters 8A-8C, a deaerator 9, a water reservoir 10 for the deaerator 9, a feed line pipe 11, a feed-water pump 12 and high pressure feed-water heaters 13A-13C into a boiler 14, to geneate steam, passes through a steam pipe 15, works in a turbine 1 and returns to the condenser 2. In this system, iron dissolves in the system water due to the corrosion of the drain line pipe system of the high pressure feed-water heaters, and deposits and adheres as iron oxide onto a constructional part in the downstream zone. Therefore, a magnetic attraction means is provided in each of the drain pipes 17A-17C to catch and remove the iron oxide.

    • PURPOSE:To indicate the crevice corrosion of structural materials in an early time by providing the anode and cathode of the same material as that of the structural materials in an actual environment in which the structural materials are placed and measuring the crevice corrosion current generated between the anode and the cathode. CONSTITUTION:A protecting body 40 made of a heat-resistant resin is mounted to a flange 38 for mounting detectors by means of pressure sealing jigs 42, 44 and a corrosion sample 46 of the same materials as that of a structural material which serves as the anode is inserted into this body 40, and a clearance 48 is formed between the body 40 and the sample 46. A flat plate counter electrode 50 of the same material as that of the corrosion sample is mounted, too, to the flange 38. The flange 38 is mounted to a part of the plant structural material and the corrosion sample 46 and the counter electrode 50 are exposed to the corrosive environment of actual machines. The structure equivalent to that of the clearances of the structural material is given by the clearance 48, and therefore if crevice corrosion occurs in the sample 46, electrochemical reaction takes place between the sample 46 and the electrode 50, and the current corresponding to the rate of corrosion flows in a nonresistance ammeter 56.

    • PURPOSE:To manufacture one-side galvanized steel plate which is excellent in adhesion by the procedure in which a non-plating agent containing ZrO2 as the main component is coated on the one side of a steel plate and then the steel plate is baked by heating and passed through a hot galvanization bath. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a steel plate to be treated os cleansed by deoiling and then coated one-sidedly with a non-plating agent which is prepared by mixing and dispersing a mixture of ZrO2 fine power as the main component and an appropriate amount of at least one of Al2O3, SiO2, CaO, BaO, TiO2, MgO, NiO2, and V2O3 fine powder in an organic solvent or hydrocarbon containing a resin and a fat. The steel plate coated with the non-plating agent is dried in the air and baked, in which resin, fats, and hydrocarbon compounds present in non-plating agent are burned incompletely for carbonization and ZrO2 fine powders, etc., are adhered closely to the steel plate. Then, the steel plate is passed through a hot galvanization bath to obtain a complete one-side plated steel plate. Finally, non-plating agent adhered to the steel plate is removed by blushing or roll.
