    • PURPOSE:To detect the condition of fuel correctly and permit to heat the fuel properly by a method wherein the heating of the fuel is effected based on a fuel temperature signal, outputted by a temperature sensor, and a pressure signal, outputted by a pressure sensor for detecting the clogging of a fuel filter. CONSTITUTION:A control circuit 26 inputs the fuel temperature signal 100, outputted by the temperature sensor 22, after starting the engine 10 by putting a key switch 32 ON under a low temperature and conducts a fuel heater 20 while the fuel is heated for a predetermined period of time under an idling revolution. Next, when the engine is brought into running condition, the control circuit 26 inputs the pressure signal 102, outputted by the pressure sesor 24 detecting the clogging of the fuel filter 18, controls the fuel heater 20 based on the pressure signal and the temperature signal 100 and prevents the fuel from becoming wax or the clogging of the fuel filter 18. Accordingly, in case the temperature of the fuel is higher than a predetermined temperature, the heating will never be effected as fas as the pressure of the fuel from the fuel filter does not become lower than a predetermined pressure and thus useless heating may be prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent drop of the output power of a Diesel engine owing to clogging with wax, by controlling a solenoid-operated valve and a heating device using a computer and by dissolving the wax quickly with minor amount of electric power. CONSTITUTION:When drop of the fuel temp. causes eduction of the wax in the fuel and clogging has occurred in No.1 fuel filter 2 to a certain degree, a negative pressure is generated at the understream. Therefore clog a sensor 11 to sense negative pressure or fuel temp. will emit a signal, which is fed into a computer 13. This computer 13 controls a solenoid-operated valve 10 so that the fuel and wax flow to a by-pass 7 and, at the same time, supplies current to the meshed heater 18 of No.2 fuel filter 9, so as to heat the filter element 16 for dissolution of the wax to ensure that the fuel flows well to the injection pump 3.
