    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solvent for dissolving an electrolyte salt of a lithium secondary battery enabling formation of the lithium secondary battery which specifically excels in discharge capacity, rate characteristics and cycle characteristics, while having improved incombustibility (safety), and also to provide a nonaqueous electrolyte solution using the solvent and electrolyte salt, and further the lithium secondary battery. SOLUTION: Provided is the solvent for dissolving the electrolyte salt of the lithium secondary battery, which contains at least one sort of fluorine-containing solvent (I) selected from the group consisting of fluorine-containing ethers, fluorine-containing esters and fluorine-containing chain carbonates, 1,2-dialkyl-1,2-difluoroethylene carbonate (II), and another carbonate (III). The nonaqueous electrolyte solution containing the solvent and the electrolyte salt, and the lithium secondary battery using the nonaqueous electrolyte solution are also provided.
