    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device having a large holding capacity in a pixel. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes a picture signal line, a pixel electrode, a thin film transistor having a first electrode connected to the picture signal line and a second electrode, a first silicon nitride film, an organic insulating film, a capacitive electrode formed as a layer located above the organic insulating film, and a second silicon nitride film formed as a layer located above the capacitive electrode and below the pixel electrode. The second silicon nitride film is the film deposited at a temperature lower than that of the first silicon nitride film. The first silicon nitride film and the second silicon nitride film have a contact hole formed by dry-etching the both collectively, wherein the second electrode and the pixel electrode are connected via the contact hole. An electric potential different from that of the pixel electrode is applied to the capacitive electrode. A switching circuit is disposed in between the gate terminal and a constant voltage power source line, a signal that sets the transistor to on-state is inputted, thereby, the switching circuit is set to off-state; and as the result, the bootstrap efficiency of the gate terminal is improved.
