    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce color smear in an auxiliary scanning direction by constituting a means for reducing the centroid shift of a reading position in the auxiliary scanning direction of a plurality of line sensors, which is generated by the afterglow characteristics of the respective colors of a white light source for original irradiation, by means of hardware through the use of a pulse width modulation system. SOLUTION: The light control signal of a fluorescent lamp for original irradiation does not start control in synchronizing with the start-up of an Hsync period but executes control so that it is matched with a center reference. Even if the duty of the light control signal changes, a center position does not change. Thus, a start-up position is controlled to be variable in accordance with duty. The afterglow quantity of green and red is distributed to the front and the back of a light emitting area and they are averaged. Then, centroid shift quantity is reduced from d2 to fine d1. Thus, it can be set to a level which does not matter on the performance degradation of picture reading by line sensors at all.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent color smear in an auxiliary direction by image-forming image information of an original on a plurality of line sensors by an image forming optical system, taking out only charges which a plurality of line sensors accumulate in a lighting period by the light control of a white light source for original irradiation different in the afterglow characteristics of respective colors, and then reading the image information. SOLUTION: Image information of an original is image-formed on a plurality of line sensors through an image forming optical system and it is read. In an image reading period, not a whole Hsync period but only the period of light control by the lighting signal of a fluorescent lamp, which is synchronized with the period, is controlled to be read. The line sensor converts only light energy in the light control period into charges and the line sensors are controlled so that centroid shift by afterglow is reduced as much as possible. Thus, the ability deterioration of image reading by the afterglow characteristic of red and green can be prevented, and color smear at the reading in an auxiliary direction is eliminated.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cancel the correction errors which are caused by various factors including a line error by correcting the displacement of a reading position based on the phase shifts of output signals of plural image pickup elements owing to the spaces which are set among these pickup elements. SOLUTION: Three line sensors successively reads the image information in order of R, G and B. A line-like chart where black and white charts are repeated in a fixed cycle and in the vertical scanning direction is read in the vertical direction. Then a standard color is defined as B and a space is set at n1 between B and G line sensor with a space set at n2 between B and R line sensors respectively. Under such conditions, both n1 and n2 can be measured by means of a difference signal Os of every output signal. The signal Os of every color is not set at the perfectly fixed value due to various vibration factors but shows a waveform that vibrates around a fixed average level. The offsets α1 and α2 are caused with the B-G and B-R signals respectively and accordingly the pixel slippage is caused. Thus, this offset correction is carried out together with the inter-line correction.

SOLUTION: The multibeam scanning optical system scans the photoreceptor surface 5 with a plurality of luminous fluxed at the same time by making a plurality of the luminous fluxes emitted by a light emission means having light source parts incident on the deflecting surface of an optical deflector 1 and guiding the luminous fluxed deflected and reflected by the deflecting surface to positions on the photoreceptor surface 5 which are close to each other in the vertical scanning direction through corresponding image forming means 3a and 3b and reflecting members 4a and 4b. In this case, the angles of the reflecting members 4a and 4b to the main light beams 6a and 6b are so set that the main light beams 6a and 6b of the pieces of luminous flux made incident on the photoreceptor surface are made incident at asymmetrical angles to the normal of the photoreceptor surface 5 in the vertical scanning cross section.

SOLUTION: A electrifying bias of a vibrating voltage constituted in such a manner that an AC voltage as a vibrating component is superimposed on a DC voltage as a fixing component is applied from a power source 10 to the electrifying roller 4 through a core metal 4a. Then, the response time of the control with the constant current is set longer than the time to pass a part. (n) deformed by the permanent deformation of the electrifying roller 4, through the discharge region. Thus, even if the electrifying roller 4 is permanently deformed, the peak-to-peak voltage value (AC voltage value) of the vibrating component is never changed while the deformed part (n) passes through the discharge region, so that the excellent electrification can be attained.

SOLUTION: A power source device is provided with a power source supplying source 1 and a control device 3, and an outer case of the power source supplying source 1 and an outer case of the control device 3 are integrally formed with each other, and the integrated outer case 2 is desirably formed into a water resistant structure and used in a condition such that it makes contacts with an arbitrary solution. In the electric power unit having the integrated outer case 2, specific gravity of the whole of the electric power unit is set smaller than that of the solution. Inside the outer case 2 a space is provided with for housing an arbitrary material, and a mechanism for filling the material into the space at need or/and a mechanism for discharging the material from the space are desirably provided.
