    • PURPOSE:To judge the azimuth of a map intuitively with good visibility and to prevent the missing map data caused by symbols by changing the predetermined display colors on a screen without using the symbols when the north and south of the map are reversed in correspondence with the advance of a vehicle. CONSTITUTION:In this running guidance apparatus for a vehicle, e.g. a present position P and an advancing direction mark D of own vehicle are displayed on the specified position (e.g. at the center of the screen) of the display device. The map is scrolled in the advancing direction as the running of the vehicle. At this time, the azimuth of the map is automatically switched in correspondence with the advancing direction so that the upper side of map on the screen becomes the north or the south.
