SOLUTION: A part of the bottom inner face of a clinometer case 1 and two first elastic members 11a support three points of the peripheral face of a ring member 10, a part of the bottom inner face of the ring member 10 and two second elastic members 11b support three points of the peripheral face of an annular insulator 6b, and electrodes 6a of a capacitor for detecting the displacement of a columnar lower end 2a of a pendulum is supported on the inner side of the insulator 6b. According to heating of a force motor, the temp. of the case 1 changes to change the inner diameter of the case bottom inner side due to the thermal deformation of the bottom thereof, the first and second elastic members 11a, 11b disposed along the inner side of the case bottom are elastically deformed so as to absorb this change, thereby eliminating effect on the insulator in the capacitor for detecting the deformation of the case bottom.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inclinometer for highly precisely measuring inclination, by preventing the deformation of a pendulum or the case due to the heat storing action of a force motor. SOLUTION: The upper edge of a pendulum 2 arranged inside a case 1 is pivotally fixed to the top part of the case 1, and force motors FM constituted of counter magnetic poles 4 mounted on the side parts of the pendulum 2, and electromagnetic coils 5 mounted on the inside wall of the case 1, are formed. A capacitor C for detecting displacement for detecting the displacement of a pendulum lower edge projecting part 2a is formed so that the inclination of a basement face G can be measured from currents running through the electromagnetic coils 5 for offsetting the displacement detected by the capacitor C. At that time, the force motors FM are formed as a pair in horizontal and vertical directions so that the distortion of the case 1 or the pendulum 2 generated due to heat storage in each electromagnetic coil 5 can be offset in the horizontal and vertical directions, and the displacement detection by the capacitor C can be accurately attained, and the precision of the inclination measurement can be improved.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hardness tester in which the straight advancing property of a sample-mounting table is ensured automatically, in which an indentation formed on a sample is situated surely just under a measuring shaft and by which a hardness test can be made quickly by installing a controller by which the position of a table support base is adjusted fine. SOLUTION: An indenter shaft 11 which is provided with an indenter 11a used to form an indentation on a test piece 20 and an indentation measuring shaft 12 which is provided with a lens 12a used to measure the size of an indentation are arranged in the X-axis direction so as to be separated. Then, a plurality of indentations are formed by the indenter 11a on the test piece 20 which is mounted on a table 4 while the table 4 is being moved to the X-axis direction. Then, the table 4 is moved to the X-axis direction and the Y-axis direction in such a way that the indentations are situated sequentially just under the lens 12a. This operation is performed while a controller fine adjusts a table support base 2 in the X-axis direction and the Y-axis direction. Consequently, when the test piece 20 is moved to the direction of the lens 12a, the indentations can be situated automatically on the optical axis of the lens 12a, and a hardness measurement can be performed quickly and automatically.

    • PURPOSE: To verify an acceleration seismograph apparatus by a remote operation and quickly by veryfying the apparatus in such a way that an instruction is given to a moving element for a gas damper so as to move a pendulum weight. CONSTITUTION: A mobile element 4 for an air damper 5 is provided with a coil 12 at the inside of a ringed gap 11, and prescribed electric power is supplied by an instruction from the outside. The coil 12 acts with a line of magnetic force generated, by a magnet 8, in the ringed gap 11 between a pole piece 9 and a yoke 10, it is moved inside of the ringed gap 11, and it moves the mobile element 4 by an amount corresponding to the prescribed electric power. A pendulum weight 3 is moved by a coupling rod 15 accordingly. An acceleration seismograph apparatus can be verified by whether the movement of the weight 3 is detected by a detection mechanism 6. In this manner, the apparatus can be verified by a remote operation only by applying the electric power from the outside.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hardness tester and a hardness testing method, capable of efficiently measuring the hardness of samples of different thickness and samples of unspecific shapes and improving the reliability of measurement results. SOLUTION: In the hardness tester 1, the image of a sample surface is photographed by a first imaging means (31) to obtain the image of the sample surface, the contour of the sample is extracted by a contour-extracting means (92) on the basis of the image, and a point of hardness measurement is set by a measurement point setting means (92). The coordinates of a location, at which the point of measurement of the sample is in focus, are determined by focus positioning means (32 and 92). On the basis of the obtained coordinates, by a means (5) for elevating and lowering a hardness measuring part (4), the hardness-measuring part (4) is vertically moved to location, at which the point of measurement of the sample is in focus. Then the sample is horizontally moved by a horizontally moving means (7) to a location, at which the point of measurement of the sample is opposed to an indenter of the hardness measuring part.
