    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive unit for a curved door like a gate which moves on a curved rail to carry out opening/closing operation, the drive unit being inexpensively produceable and free from a failure by employing a simple transmission mechanism. SOLUTION: The drive unit drives the curved automatic door which has wheels thereof placed on a similarly curved rail, and is driven for opening/closing operation. The drive unit is fixed in the vicinity of the rail, and has driving wheels attached thereto, for applying driving force for opening/closing the automatic door, whereby the driving wheels are pressed onto a guide plate arranged on a chassis of the automatic door to carry out rotation. The guide plate is horizontally arranged on a side surface of the chassis, and the two driving wheels are pressed onto upper and lower surfaces of the guide plate to rotate in mutually opposite directions, to thereby apply the driving force for opening/closing the automatic door. The two driving wheels rockably support rocking arms on mounting stands by means of rocking support pins, respectively, and energize the guide plate between the driving wheels in a mutually pressing directions by pressing springs.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airtight type automatic door enhanced in airtightness of the automatic door without easily forming a clearance even if a slight force is applied to the door in an opening direction.
