CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive body is formed by providing a photosensitive layer 4 comprising a laminated body constituted of a carrier generating layer 2 consisting primarily of a squarylium compd. expressed by the formula (wherein each R1-R4 is H atom., halogen atom., alkyl group, alkoxy group, OH group, or NHY; R5 is a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group; Ar is a phenyl, naphthyl, anthranyl, condensed polycyclic, or heterocyclic group, which may be substituted) and a carrier transfer layer 3 contg. a carrier transfer material as primary component, to an electroconductive base body 1. The photosensitive body has superior electrophotographic characteristics, generates scarce deterioration against repetitive use, and is stable to heat and light.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain indole in high recovery ratio and advantageously, by separating indole from an indole-containing oil with an acid as an oligomer salt, deacidifying the oligomer salt in the presence of an aromatic hydrocarbon, then regenerating the oligomer salt, deacidifying again and thermally decomposing the oligomer. CONSTITUTION:An indole-containing oil such as coal tar is brought into contact with an acid, indole is separated as an oligomer salt, which is deacidified with a basic substance in the presence of an aromatic hydrocarbon. Then the deacidified oligomer is brought into contact with an acid again to give an oligomer salt, which is separated and deacidified with a basic substance. Further the deacidified oligomer is thermally decomposed to give indole useful as a raw material for drugs and agricultural chemicals. By this method, almost perfect indole can be recovered independently of concentration of indole and indole can be recovered in high yield as a high-purity indole oil especially from an indole-containing oil having low indole content.
