An utterance start signal is raised from the interface circuit 3 to a voice synthesis circuit 4 through the input and the output of the voice synthesis circuit 4 is outputted from a speaker 7. If the user desires to listen to a background music, the user depresses a pushbutton switch, a background music signal is given to a mixing circuit 5 through the telephone line and the background music is given from the speaker 7 by a prescribed sound volume.

Moreover, when a charging pulse comes from a station exchange, the charging pulse infor mation to the telephone set 300 is accurately detected via light emitting diodes 2, 3 for detecting charging pulse and photodetectors 2', 3' for detecting charging pulse. In applying illegal communication by illegal operation such as hooking-off of handset during talking, the power supply to the set 200 is interrupted via the light emitting diode 1 for loop detection and the photodetector 1' for detec tion to cut off forcibly the illegal communication. Thus, the loop line of the trunk line is backed up and pulse information is accurately detected.

When a fixed time elapses after this, the dial data of the telephone number of the called person stored temporarily from an MEM 3 are read, and the dial data are converted to a dial signal sent from an OSC 4 through an SPC 5 to the line 11. Namely, the telephone number of the called person stored temporarily is automatically re-sent.
