摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an upright type vacuum cleaner having an excellent dust collection performance.SOLUTION: An upright type vacuum cleaner comprises: a suction port body 5 having a rotary brush 6; and a cleaner body 1 having the suction port body 5 rotatably borne on the side face and arranged with a dust chamber 3, an electric blower 2 and a wheel 11. Further the upright type vacuum cleaner comprises: a flanged rib 15 mounted on the outer periphery of the suction port body 5; a frame body 14 made rotatable around a shank 16 positioned on the side face of the suction port body 5; and a spring member 17 disposed below a cleaner body 1 so that the frame body 14 abuts against the spring member 17 and applies a load to the flange-shaped rib 15. The suction port body 15 is pushed in its entirety onto a carpet to force the hair of the rotary brush 6 into the carpet thereby to scrape out the dust so that the dust collecting performance is improved without lowering the suction force of the electric blower 2 thereby to improve the performance.

Such a structure improves stability of the vacuum cleaner body and usability of the handle and a knob part when carried.
