摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a polarization separating element whose characteristic such as diffraction efficiency is stable so that it is of a higher quality. SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing a polarization separating element 10 includes the process of forming a polydiacetylene orientation film (double refraction material layer) 12a on a glass substrate 11, a first heat treatment process for causing a change in hue of the double refraction material layer 12a by means of heat or for stabilizing its molecular structure, and a process for forming a periodic grating 12b through patterned exposure to ultraviolet radiation. The method is provided with a second heat treatment process in which, after the periodic grating 12b is formed, it is stabilized by means of heat. In the second heat treatment process, a heat treatment is performed below a temperature at which change in hue of the periodic grading 12b progresses or contraction of a film due to stabilization of the molecular structure progresses, e.g. at 140 deg.C, with the time of the heat treatment set in accordance with the kind of a light source employed in patterned exposure; a heat treatment is carried out for five to ten hours when a xenon-mercury lamp is used. Thus, the polarization separating element can be manufactured having stable diffraction efficiency and high quality such that peeling will not occur during a dancing process.

This achieves an interchangeable employment of discs with different thickness.

摘要： PURPOSE:To perform two-dimensional scanning in a convergence beam system of roughly equivalent 1/2 of a diffraction limit by a simple optical system. CONSTITUTION:A light beam outgoing from a first coherent light source 100 of linear polarization is converged on a preparation 106 through an objective lens 105 as a main beam. A sub-beam outgoing from a second coherent light source 112 is a linear polarization beam whose plane of polarization is orthogonal to the main beam, and is converged on the surface of the preparation 106 as a both peaks shape beam whose central position and the main part size coincide with the main beam. Both beams are scanned on the preparation 106 under the state of being superimposed. After both beams transmit through the preparation 106, are separated by passing through a second polarizing beam splitter 108, and are detected in first, second photodetectors 110, 120 separately. Output signal from the first, the second photodetectors 110, 120 are operated by a differential ALU 124 to be displayed on a display device 129 through a second control means 128.

Separately, a condenser objective lens 50 is bonded to a suitable position on the lower substrate 20 by a machine and at the position, a circular hole is provided by a semiconductor planar fabrication process. The high density micro-optical head is formed from the elements.
