    • PURPOSE:To hold down a negative camber angle to be small when wheels bounce, by setting up axes of two lateral links to be connected to both rear upper and lower parts of a trailing arm so as to be crossed outward a car in a back view. CONSTITUTION:A rear suspension consists of a trailing arm 1, being pivotally attached to a car body at the front end side, supporting a wheel 16 at the rear end side, and to be set up in a longitudinal direction of the car body, and plural lateral links 21-41 whose one end is connected to the car body and other end side to the arm 1 respectively, and to be set up sidelong of the car body. And, the link 41 to be connected to a rear lower part of the arm 1 is formed to be longer than the link 31 to be connected to a rear upper part of the arm 1. In the mentioned above, axes L1 and L2 of respective links 31 and 41 to be connected to both rear upper and lower parts of the arm 1 are set up so as to be crossed outward a car in a back view. With this constitution, a negative camber angle at a bounce of the car is held down to the smallest possible extent.

In the mentioned above, a body side pivoting point F of a piece among these lateral links 21-41, for example, the first lateral link 21 is set up in a position more frontward than the fuel tank 91 and a body side pivoting point H of another piece, for example, the third lateral link 41 is set up more rearward than the fuel tank 91, respectively.

In the mentioned above, a body side pivoting point F of a piece among these lateral links 21-41, for example, the first lateral link 21 is set up in a position more ahead than the fuel tank 91. With this constitution, the first lateral link 21 having sufficient length is adoptable while keeping off any interference between the first lateral link and the fuel tank 91.

CONSTITUTION:The captioned rear suspension whose base end is rotatably installed on a body side 16, consists of a swing arm 18 on which a wheel support 12 on the end of which a rear wheel 10 is rotatably supported, is mounted, three lateral links 20, 22, 24 whose outer ends are connected to the wheel support 12 while whose inner ends are connected to the body side 16, and which are extending in the lateral direction of body, and a sub-frame 28. The sub- frame 28 consists of a pair of right and left longitudinal member parts 30, and two lateral members 36, 38. And, the right and left longitudinal member parts 30 are formed in such a way that their natural frequencies are differentiated from each other and, thereby, the vibration of the sub-frame 28 can be lessened, reducing a humming sound.

The sub-frame 28 consists of a pair of right and left longitudinal member parts 30 to which the inner ends of the three lateral links 20, 22, 24 are connected near the rear end part, a first lateral member part 36 which connects the rear end parts of both of the longitudinal member part 30, and a second lateral member part 38 which connects parts near the connecting points of the frontmost lateral link, of both of the longitudinal member parts 30.
