摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling mill with which a surface pressure between a work roll and a back-up roll is reduced and a sheet crown is controllable in a wide range. SOLUTION: The rolling mill is provided with work rolls 4 having crowns a convex part and concave part of which are provided continuing in point symmetry each other, back-up rolls 5 for supporting the work rolls 4, roll shifting devices for alternately shifting the work rolls 4 in the axial direction of roll and crown varying mechanisms 6 for expanding and contracting the sleeves 5s of the back-up rolls 5 in the radial direction. By making the work roll 4 into a roll shift type, the crown controll of a material 7 to be rolled is executed and, by taking the crown of the back-up roll 5 into a variable type, the surface pressure with the work roll 4 is reduced.

The barrel of the back-up roll 12 is deformed by the movement in the axial direction of the tapered piston 11, and the upper work roll 14 is thereby deformed along the back-up roll 12.

摘要： PURPOSE: To prevent a pressure rise in static pressure chambers even if pressurized operating fluid in the static pressure chambers is lower than the pressure in a clearance between a crosshead and hollow roll by providing a stay with a passage which communicates the static pressure chambers with a cylinder chamber, and providing the passage with a check valve opened to the cylinder chamber side. CONSTITUTION: A clearance 6 between a cross head 3' and the inner periphery of a hollow roll 1 is filled with a pressurized operating fluid. When the hollow roll 1 is rotated, the pressurized operating fluid in the clearance 6 flows into static pressure chambers 37, 38 over a circular protrusion 35, and the static pressure chambers 37, 38 are filled with the pressurized operating fluid flowing therein to cause the inconvenience of pressure in the static pressure chambers 37, 38 becoming higher than an expected pressure. A check valve 43 provided at a stay 24 is opened even with the generation of slight pressure in the static pressure chambers 37, 38 to discharge the pressurized operating fluid to a cylinder chamber 40. Pressure lower than the pressure in the clearance 6 is therefore maintained in the static pressure chambers 37, 38 and cylinder chamber 40 to prevent the change of a roll gap and the fluctuation of linear compressive force.

Each of three or more separated metal sleeves 10, 11, 12 to be engaged with the outer ring of the shaft bearing 8 is provided with two or plural irregularity parts 13, 14, and the irregularity parts are engaged with each other to link the metal sleeves 10, 11, 12 to each other to bend freely. Since a torsional torque can be absorbed by the metal sleeves, durability of the rubber sleeve can be improved largely, and centering correction force at the time of inserting a thin plate is scattered, thereby buckling of a plate center part can be restricted.

摘要： PURPOSE: To make it possible to adjust the intricate roll gap contours of 20-high cluster mills by supporting shafts and idler rolls having greatly reduced transverse rigidity. CONSTITUTION: On B and C backing bearing assemblies, O-rings 67 are mounted between the respective sides of rings 61 and adjacent eccentrics 74 and 75 so as to form gaps and consequently, the shafts 60 can be freely bent by the elasticity of the O-rings 67. The respective eccentrics 74 and 75 are keyed to the mounting rings. Segmented bridge elements are disposed as to transfer the load from the center to the respective sides of the respective rollers. The idler roll 14 of the second intermediate roll has the integral, rod-like, transversely flexible core. A series of the plural rings slightly spaced from each other forming a roll body are installed on the core. The respective rings are provided with counter cores from their respective ends in such a manner that only the short central portions thereof come into contact with the core.
